YeahâŚ..
I didnât want to make this a thingâ˘ď¸ bc I feel like it can come off ungrateful and bitchy, which I never want. I love talking with you guys on things outside of my writing too. Characterizations, hotd/f&b, modern au etc. and just life in general. I feel very fortunate to have people in my inbox bc interactions/support can feel few and far especially for content makers on here
But there are times where I almost feel like people are like ??? Idk the word for it other than goad me into things even after Iâve made my opinions (imo) quite clear. Just certain questions that clearly want me to say something negative.
I donât want to view it as malicious. I do think the questions/comments are being made in earnest. But if I give my opinion on something, then someone comes back with an âwell actually - đ¤â ask⌠it just makes me wonder what the point of giving my first opinion was. Bc Iâve made my opinion clear and itâs not gonna change. If it does, I will go back and edit said ask.
Does this make sense? I feel like Iâm being whiny but Iâve been in a weird mood lately. Part of the reason is some of the asks that i have gotten over past couple of weeks. I try to answer things as honestly and kindly as possible. But sometimes I get asks and Iâm just like âyouâve clearly made up your mind already that you donât like this character or want them to have bad traits, so what is the point of thisâ
In particular, Iâve gotten these types of asks (that I have deleted) about Aemond (a lot of these) and alicent. Idk if it is the writing I have put out, though I like to think Iâve been pretty fair about a complex characters like Aemond and Alicent. Iâve made it clear that Aemond and Alicent are characters I like, my favs on the show so far, so the asks alluding to how horrible they are/could be is little odd to me. Bc Iâm sure there are a plethora of places to shit on both characters if that is the prerogative (that goes for all team green characters⌠people who enjoy team green are kind of the minority lol)
I know there are hotd blogs out there that enjoy breaking down the show/f&b and characters at nausea, and thatâs great for them. Same for the blogs that are filled with âtheoriesâ made from Reddit. Thatâs not necessarily what my blog is. I appreciate yâall care about my opinions but Iâm also of the belief not every person needs to give their opinions on everything.
My writing blog is something I consider cathartic and fun. I donât want to get worked up talking about a theory/âleakâ that hasnât been confirmed by anyone other than people who apparently hate hotd⌠but still keep talking about it??? To the point of checking out what is happening on set??? I also donât want to constantly being talking about people who enjoys ships I donât care for (daemyra or helaemond or whatever else). Or constantly shitting on characters I do like.
Itâs like I get it you think Aemond would be a horrible father, why does that have to do with me đ. You think heâd be a terrible partner I GET IT!
If I write a character a certain way, Iâd like to discuss that (positive or negative - show or book) or even just what happens in the show. I feel like interpretations for characters can be different for everyone and thatâs the interesting part. But regurgitating answers isnât really my cup of tea. I feel like people in the asoiaf fandom, but now more so in the hotd one, have gotten so use to arguing people down over stuff that it has sucked some of fun out of analysis. Idk it just feels like there can be bad faith questions/scenarios being bandied about
I just want to write my stuff, chat with you guys in a fun and open way, and make the occasional post about things on the show.
Ngl some of the asks yâall send me about hotd or even f&b just have me staring at my screen like ââŚ. What am I supposed to sayâ lmao
#I donât want to sound like a loser who doesnât have a good grasp on the good and bad of these characters#I also want to give people the ability to say their piece in a discussion - thatâs the fun part about world building/interesting characters#but if you see the majority of the hotd things I write are team green centric#and my hotd post are team green positive#why are you in my inbox talking about how awful these characters are⌠like what makes you think I would want to see that#or have the patience to argue you down#you can have your opinion and I can have mind⌠thatâs the beauty of life#but this is also MY blog and Iâm allowed to curate it how I want#I hope this doesnât come off awful but Iâm sorry a boundary needed to be set

thinking about getting a little too drunk w husband!simonâŚ
heâs already a super possessive guy, but your drunken antics are only making it ten times worse.
sure, coming to the bar was his idea. it was only fair, after such a long week at work, that he got to have a nice dinner on the town and a few beers shortly after. even better that he got to do it with his pretty fucking wife, you know?
yeah, he watched you slip into the tightest, smallest dress you had, curl your hair into pretty little coils, and push and pull at everything else out of place. he saw the too tall black pumps you chooseâ the oneâs he got you for your anniversary that make your legs look model-length long. he even saw the way your black lace bralette played peek-a-boo along your dressâs neckline.
all of it only made him more excited.
getting to show you off on the town? his sweet, sexy little woman all done-up and pretty, hanging off his arm like his little trophy? god, he was practically hard before you two could reach the front door.
the second that liquor hit your system, though, was the second all hell broke loose.
at this point in the night, youâre long past the idea of sitting pretty, eating your food, and posing for pictures. now, youâre feeling good. a little tipsy, or maybe even drunk. all the shyness or docile little feelings from the beginning of the night are gone.
now, you wanna dance. you wanna throw your arms up and sway with the other bar-goers, and why shouldnât you be able to?
you didnât mind the way your dress rode up your thighs, giving the wrong people an eyeful of your goods. you hadnât noticed the men whoâd run their hands over you, every so often passing by with their crotch just a little too close to your ass. all you were focused on was the music, how good you felt, and when your next shot was coming.
if only you had paid attention to the damn near menacing stare simon had you under. something that rivaled a madmanâs with its intensity.
heâd held back for the first few songs, letting the angel on his shoulder telling him to ease up guide him. sure, he still stood around like an unamused body guard, sending glares to the gawking men and buying your drinks whenever you asked. maybe occasionally heâd get a cute picture or video of you too. that was just what came with the simon oâriley type though.
it wasnât until you got to the flirty territory, grinding your ass into him with the music or kissing him with a little too much tongue, that he decided to pull the plug.
and god, did you always give him attitude for it.
âiâm not ready to leave, simon,â youâd whine, eyes glossed over and face screwed up in that cute little way you only do when youâre aggravated.
âi want another drink,â but youâre slurring and stumbling already.
âjust keep kissing on me, baby,â you protest as he grabs your discarded shoes and purse and starts leading you towards the exit.
heâs sweet with you at first, given how drunk and cute you truly are. sure, you may have triggered his possessiveness early, but youâre batting your eyelashes up at him and clinging onto him for dear life. how could he not talk to you softly? how could he not kiss you back as he tugged your dress back down?
âitâs alright, lovie. letâs get home and iâll take such good care of you.â
you start trying to fight him though and youâll see how thin his patience truly is.
doing things out of spite? pulling his hands away from you while heâs trying to guide you down the street? arguing with him through your half-coherent sentences? cursing him under your breath just loud enough that he can hear it?
youâre getting yourself in trouble and youâre too drunk to know it.
he was prepared to let your little outbursts slide. wouldnât hold it against you and still keep his plans straight for the night.
after all youâd done, he was still gonna get you home, slip off those stockings and undo those zippers. dedicate the rest of the night to making you feel all good like how youâd begging him too.
but you just canât keep that pretty little mouth shut, can you?
âdonât make it worse for yourself.â heâd warn, grabbing your face from its resting place against his passenger-side window, âyouâve already fucked up enough as is, yeah?â
his voice is gruff and his jaw is set, but his eyes donât leave yours for a second.
youâll be making it up to him all night long, and heâs gonna be anything but nice now ;)

yearning drunk!husband ushijima wakatoshi.
NOTE. contains a bit of alcohol contentâthough nothing too explicit or anything concerning <33
It always started the same wayâkind of like an inside joke that grew wings, feathers, a tab, and Ushijimaâs name on the reservation list.
Ushijima never initiated going out drinking with his Schweiden Adlers teammates. In fact, he rarely said anything about it at all. It was always someone else who mentioned it after a game. Always someone else who slung an arm over his shoulder and declared, âCâmon, Ushiwaka, we have to celebrate,â even though Ushijima had never once expressed interest in alcohol, bar food, or drunken conversations.
Still, he always went.
Because itâd be rude if he didnât at least stay for a few minutes, he thinks.
Sometimes he showed up in his team windbreaker, sometimes in a long, dark gray coat that made him look like a trench-wearing monument of silence. And he never said no, even when the clamor of celebration was already grating at the edges of his patience.
Tonight was one of those nights.
Theyâd won by the skin of their teethâan overtime set against a grueling opponent, the kind of match that made even the benchwarmers feel like champions by the end. So of course Heiwajima had started the round-up in the locker room. Hoshiumi had shouted over everyone about their lucky bar down the street, and within twenty minutes, the entire team had found themselves in their regular private suite.
Ushijima sat at the end of the table, his back straight, a glass in front of him filled with alcohol he didnât particularly like. His teammates were loud and loose and chaoticâlaughing at Sokolov trying to arm-wrestle the barâs bouncer, clapping every time someone dropped a fork, and yelling across the table in at least three different languages.
âA thousand yen says heâll ask about his wife in twenty minutes,â Hoshiumi said quietly, leaning toward their captain, Hirugami Fukurou.
âYouâre giving him way too much credit,â Romero replied, fondly grinning. âHe gets wistful around minute twelve.â
âHe gets wistful the moment he sits down.â
Ushijima was unmoved. He stared at his drink, took a single sip, and let it rest in his hand. He didnât participate in the yelling, the toasts, or the story someone was animatedly telling about a missed serve from three seasons ago. He just existedâquietly, stoicallyâas a satellite to the chaos.
Except, of course, they all knew he was waiting.
He always was.
There was a pattern to the transformation. First, heâd sit there like stone. Then heâd blink a little more slowly. His brows would draw togetherânot in anger, but in vague confusion, like he was lost in a thought he couldnât solve. His fingers would move against his glass, not to drink but to fidget, just a little.
And thenâŚ
âHas anyone seen my phone?â Ushijima asked, barely louder than the buzz of conversation.
Hoshiumi slid it across the table immediately. âRight here, Ushiwaka. Sorry! We took a few pictures here and there.â
âThank you.â
He looked down at the screen. It was still lit with the last message from you from earlier that day: Good luck, baby. Donât forget to stretch your left shoulder. Heâd never repliedâhe never did, not when he was already in headspaceâbut now, he stared at it like it was the only thing tethering him to reality.
âYou want to text her?â Hoshiumi asks, lightly teasing, which Ushijima didnât catch onto.
Ushijima didnât answer. He opened the thread and typed a few letters. Deleted them. Typed something else. Backspaced. Then just stared.
And then finally: âShe hasnât replied.â
His teammates laughed.
âThere it is!â
âItâs only been seventeen minutes! I win!â
âNo, you cheated. I said ten, and he didnât even check his phone until minute twelve!â
âShh, shh, look at himâheâs pouting.â
âWait, is this the pout phase? I thought that came after the silent brooding phase.â
âTechnically weâre entering pout-brood overlap. Itâs a dangerous time.â
Ushijima didnât argue. He simply set the phone down again and folded his hands in front of him. Kageyama leaned over.
âYou want me to call her for you, Ushijima-san?â
Ah, yes. Kageyama was too nice for his own good. Trying to enhance his socialization and trying to lessen his awkwardness with his teammates when the conversation didnât revolve around volleyball.
Ushijima nodded. Just once. Immediately. âYes.â
...
âAmazing! Heâs not even trying to hide it.â
âCan you imagine being that in love?â
âHe just wants his wife. Look at him. Heâs a whole sad poem in one sitting.â
âSheâs gonna get here, and heâs gonna light up like a lantern.â
âMay this love run me over.â
Kageyama stood and walked a few paces away from the table, already dialing your number. Meanwhile, the others watched Ushijima sip his drink againânot because he wanted it, but because it gave his hands something to do. His eyes were glued to the screen even though no new notifications had appeared.
Romero leaned in conspiratorially to Hirugami. âDo you think she talks to him in, like, soft tones? Calls him âbabyâ and stuff?â
âI think so,â he shrugs. âI think theyâre sweet like that.â
âAw, young love.â
The teasing continued, but it softened. Because underneath the jokes and the laughs was a sort of awe.
Their teammateâso serious, so focused, so unreadable on courtâwas completely and utterly soft when it came to his wife. Not in a loud way. Not in any way that could be easily teased, really. It was quiet. Heavy. Real.
When Kageyama returned, he had a pleased expression. âSheâs on her way. Said she just got off work and is driving over.â
Ushijima gave another slow blink.
âThank you.â
Kageyama nods. Somehow they manage to have conversations even if they just continue nodding to each other.
As soon as Kageyama said it, his phone buzzed with a new message. He didnât even need to open it. He could tell by the way his entire body relaxed by a single, barely noticeable degree.
Sorry, hun. Just got off work. Are you okay?
He replied.
Iâm okay. I miss you.
And then he set the phone down and folded his hands again, this time with more calm. More certainty. You were coming. That was all he needed to know.
The others noticed the shift immediately.
âHe smiled.â
âNo, he didnât.â
âHe did! Donât argue with me; I saw it. It was micro. But it counted.â
âHeâs already halfway out the door with his heart.â
âWatch, the second she walks through that door, heâll go full puppy mode.â
Sure enough, fifteen minutes later, the door opened. A gust of cold air followed you inside, along with the soft jingle of the barâs entrance bell. You spotted them easilyâyour eyes landing on Ushijima before anything else. And his entire body seemed to change shape.
He stood upânot quickly, but instantly, with a kind of gravity no one else in the room had.
You smiled as you approached, slipping out of your coat and brushing off the cold that nipped your nose softly. âHi, love,â you greeted softly. âYou ready to go?â
âYes,â Ushijima said, already reaching for his jacket.
As he shrugged it on, you turned to the table. âHope he wasnât too much trouble?â
Hoshiumi leaned on the table with a grin. â[Name], your husband is the definition of ânot trouble.â Weâre just grateful you came to collect him before he sighed himself into the carpet.â
âTell them what he said!â someone shouted.
âHe asked if anyone had seen his phone like it was a national emergency.â
âAnd he didnât poutâhe brooded. Like a man out of a romantic novel.â
âI think I did,â Ushijima just nodded at their comments about him.
He then stood by quietly, waiting for you to finish your goodbyes. When you looped your arm through his, he leaned ever so slightly toward you.
As they left, Romero raised his glass.
âTo [Name]âs husband,â he declared. The table cheered.
Outside, as you two walked toward the car, you glanced up at him, fingers tightening around his arm.
âYou really okay?â you asked.
He hummed. Then, in that low, steady voice only you ever got to hear, it softenedâ
âI missed you,â he said again. âThey were loud. I wanted to see you very much.â
You smiled and gave his arm a firm, loving squeeze. âWell. Iâm here now.â
And... yeah.
Thatâs what heâs been wanting to hear all night.

Sundress
Joel Miller x Reader
Joel prides himself on his patience, but that little sundress of yours that youâre wearing to the summer solstice? Itâs his undoing. He does his best to behave...until he gets you alone.
|| smut mdni 18+, he sure does fuck you in the sundress, pinv, f!receiving oral, teasing, pussy pronouns whoops, daddy kink, pet names praissseeeeeeee kinkkkkkkk, joel is in love, jackson!joel, established relationship, I pictured game!joel but you do what ya want || Inspired by these wonderful requests x x If you found this before I updated the banner sry
First and foremost, Joel was a polite man.
He was raised to say yes maâam and no maâam, never forgetting his please and thank youâs. It was something a Southern man like him held onto, even after the world had gone to hell.
Respect came first. Restraint. Control.
But then spring came to Jackson, and your layers of clothing started to shed. Bit by bit, the cold loosened its grip, and so did his discipline. Your neck was no longer hidden beneath those thick scarves you loved, your arms bare when the sun was shining, and every so often, he caught a glimpse of soft, warm skinâthe dip of your lower back, the curve of your stomach when you stretched to reach something, the way your t-shirts lifted just enough to tease.
He told himself it was nothingâjust the natural way of things. Heâd seen you naked in his bed enough times to know your body like the back of his own hand. Cherished and kissed and loved every inch. Warmer weather just meant lighter clothes, more sun on skin.
Nothing to make a man lose his damn mind over.
And thenâChristâsummer arrived, and he was no better than any other man.
Somehow, this was worse. Because now, that soft, sun-kissed skin he worshipped in the quiet of your home was everywhere.Â
Teasing him.Â
Tormenting him.
Joel had spent the whole morning baking under the sun, sweat clinging to his skin, dust settling in the creases of his shirt. The construction site had been brutalâhauling lumber, setting up new fencing, fixing the shit that kept breaking down in town. His muscles ached, his skin was hot, and by the time the afternoon rolled around, all he wanted was a cold beer and a quiet place to sit.
But Tommy had other plans.
âCâmon,â his brother had grinned, clapping him on the back as they finished up for the day. âSolstice picnicâs startinâ.âÂ
And as Joel opened his mouth, about to argue that he needed to get back to you, Tommy had cut him off, already a step ahead.
"Sheâs already there. Maria put her to work stringinâ up lights and pickinâ flowers or somethinâ. Now get movinâ before she starts wonderinâ if you forgot about 'er."
Joel grunted, stripping off his work gloves and tucking them into his belt. His palms were rough, lined with grit, and as he wiped the sweat from his brow, he swore the damn heat had sunk into his bones.
Wouldnât be the first time he showed up to one of these things straight from work, sweat-streaked and worn. No one gave a shit. So he walked beside his younger brother, looking forward to getting through another one of the town's little parties.
That was when he saw you.Â
That little sundress. White, lacy, soft. Light enough that it barely touched your skin, the summer breeze slipping beneath it and lifting the fabric just enough to reveal the bare skin of your upper thigh.
Joel swallowed hard, the heat rolling through him having nothing to do with the damn sun.
You were glowingâgolden in the late afternoon light, hair catching in the breeze, your smile easy as you laughed at something Maria said. Just standing there, sipping something cool, completely oblivious to the way heâd stopped in his tracks the second he laid eyes on you. Tommy excused himself as they arrived, saying a short âcatch up with you laterâ.
Joel made himself move, rolling his shoulders, setting his jaw.Â
Polite, he reminded himself. Gentle.
Joel had been raised right, after all.
So when he walked up to you, he made it seem easy, effortless. Like his hands werenât itching with the need to touch. Like his pulse hadnât just kicked up something fierce.
âHey, baby,â he murmured as he approached behind you, his wide grip settling low on your hips.
You twisted around to face him, eyes lighting up at the sight of him. âHey, handsome.â Your hands slid around his neck as you pressed up for a kissâsoft, warm, sweet with the taste of iced tea and that cherry chapstick you always wore.
Joel had to fight with every fiber of his being not to haul you over his shoulder and carry you straight home.
Didnât help that you hummed against his lips, content and tender, fingers brushing at the sweat-damp curls at the nape of his neck.
He exhaled slowly, steadying himself before he pulled back just enough to murmur, âPretty thing like youâs got half of Jackson lookinâ.â
You grinned, fingers still playing lazily with the curls at his nape. âThat so?â
Joel huffed, the corner of his mouth tilting up, but there was something weighted behind the way his fingers flexed against your hips, pressing in just a little firmer.
âMm,â he hummed, voice dipping low. âSâpose I canât blame âem.â His thumb brushed the fabric of your dress, right where it pressed into the soft skin of your waist. His restraint was hanging by a thread. âAinât their fault youâre the prettiest thing out here.â
âYouâre sweet,â you said, a tinge of pink painting your cheeks.Â
His hand squeezed at your hip, just once, and then he exhaled sharply, pressing a quick kiss to your temple before finallyâfinallyâforcing himself to step back.
Because if he didnât, this picnic was about to end real fast.
You turned to grab him a beer from the cooler, Tommyâs homemade brewâpractically gold now that the days were creeping past eighty degrees. The glass was cool against your fingertips as you popped the cap and turned back, pressing it into Joelâs waiting hand.
âFigured you could use one.â
Joel took it with a small nod, taking a slow sip. âThanks, darlinâ.â
His voice was warm, easy like he hadnât spent the last several minutes imagining what he planned to do you tonight.
You tilted your head, teasing. âAnything for you, cowboy.â
His mouth quirked up at the corner, âDonât say that just yet,â
Something in the air shifted, something subtle, something unspoken but you felt it coursing through you, a warmth that brought a flush to your neck.
Joelâs eyes lingered, dark and steady, holding yours like he had all the time in the world. A slow, searching kind of stare, like he was committing the sight of you to memory, like he had something he wanted to say if you were surrounded by a crowd.
You felt the heat of it traveling from your cheeks to your stomach with toe curling intensity..
The fire crackled nearby. Someone laughed in the distance. The music played on.
But before either of you could say anything else, someone clapped him on the backâTommy again, grinning, dragging him into conversation with a few others, leaving you standing there with a knowing little smirk.
Still, you stayed close.
And so did he.
The afternoon passed in a slow, easy blur. Music drifted through the warm air, laughter rang across the field, and JoelâJoel was everywhere.
His hand at your lower back as you walked through the crowd.
His arm slung over the back of your chair when you sat beside him at one of the makeshift picnic tables.
His fingers brushing over your thigh when he leaned in to murmur something low in your ear, just for you.
It wasnât deliberate, at least not in the way most folks would notice. But you felt itâfelt the way his touches lingered a second longer than necessary, the way his gaze dropped to your legs when the hem of your dress rode up just a little, the way his jaw clenched whenever you gave other men any of your attentionâas kind and endearing as you were. It wasnât your fault. You were kind, warm, effortlessly magnetic. People were drawn to you, it was just who you were.
Joel Miller was trying to behave.
And failing miserably.
By the time the sun had long dipped below the mountains, the stars shining in the dark blue sky above, he was done pretending.
You were settled on his lap, your bare legs draped over his, firelight flickering against your skin. The air was balmy, thick with the scent of burning wood and cool summer breeze, but your skin was warm against him.
His hand rested easy on the outside of your thigh at first, a casual thing, his fingers tracing idle patterns against your skin. But as the fire burned lower, so did his restraint. Slowly, lazily, his palm inched higherâskimming up, up, until his fingers slipped beneath your dress, disappearing into the soft folds of fabric.
And then he gripped you, fingers pressing into the juncture of your thigh and ass, squeezing like he just needed something to hold onto.
You jolted slightly, a sharp breath slipping past your lips as you swatted at his arm. âJoel.â
âHmm?â He didnât even pretend to be innocent, his fingers flexing again, kneading the flesh beneath his palm.
You tried to glare, but the traitorous smile pulling at your lips ruined the effect. âBehave yourself.â
Joel huffed out a quiet chuckle, looking up at you with something wicked in his eyes. His hand stayed exactly where it was.
âYou gonâ make me?â he murmured, voice low, rough enough to leave goosebumps in its wake.
Your breath hitched. And then, almost like he hadnât meant to say it out loudâlike it had slipped past his lips before he could stop itâhe exhaled, voice all gravel and want:
âThis dress.â
His hand beneath your dress slid back down, fingering at the hem of the white lace, so pale now compared to your warm skin.
Your breath caught, eyes flickering down to where his fingers toyed with the fabric. His own gaze stayed locked on your face, watching every little shift, every little reaction.
When his thumb ghosted over your kneecap, you swallowed hard, thighs pressing together instinctively.
âLook so pretty, baby,â he murmured, voice thick and rough with want as he leaned into the shell of your ear. âIf I didnât know any better, Iâd think you were tryinâ to drive me outta my mind.â
And maybe you were.
You knew how much Joel loved you in dresses. It was something about the way they softened you, how the fabric clung to your curves just right, how effortless and feminine you looked draped in lace and light cotton. He never outright said it, but you saw it in the way his hands lingered, in the way his eyes darkened whenever you wore something delicateâsomething that made you look like you were made for pretty things.
Joel might have been a rough man, all grit and strength, but it was the softness that undid him.
Your back arched into him just an inch, barely anything, but enough that he felt it. Enough that the warmth of your body, the scent of you, the soft brush of your hair against his cheek made his brain go sluggish, thick with something hot and needy.
And then you looked at him.
Heavy-lidded, dazed, lips parted just slightlyâlike you were already halfway gone before heâd even laid his hands on you. It made something tighten in his chest, made his fingers dig into the soft flesh of your thigh, an involuntary reaction to just how badly he wanted to feel more of you.
Your hand came up to his face, and before either of you could think twice, you were leaning in.
The kiss was nothing like the ones youâd shared earlierâno teasing, no gentle sweetness. This was urgent, all heat and hunger, your tongue kitten-licking at his bottom lip, testing, tasting, making his half-hard cock twitch beneath his jeans. He nearly groaned, nearly let it slip from his throat, but his grip on control was thin, fraying at the edges.
Because when you pulled away, instead of giving him space, you leaned in, lips brushing his ear, your breath warm and an octave lower than your usual sweet lilt.
âLet's go home,â you whispered, kissing along his earlobe, voice barely thereâbut it hit him like an electric shock.
That was all it took.
Joel was like an animal waiting for his trigger word, waiting for the command to be free, to take what he wanted.
He stood slowly, deliberately, trying to keep himself cool, calm, politeâsaving face only because he owed that to you. Not because he cared what people thought. Hell, half of Jackson already had enough to say about him.
But he behaved for you.
For his girl.
Joel stood slowly, setting your legs down gently as he rose, his palm grazing the small of your backâjust barely, just enough to feel the warmth of you beneath his fingertips. You stayed close, bodies still humming from the heat of each other, lingering even as you murmured your goodbyes.
But the further you got from the crowd, the needier your touches became.
Your fingers curled around his arm, holding tight, your body leaning into his, pressing into the solid warmth of him with every step. And JoelâJoel wasnât any better. His hand had already found its way around your waist, fingers spreading over your hip like he couldnât stand not touching you.
It wasnât until you turned the corner onto your own streetâfinally aloneâthat Joel came to a sudden stop.
Your brows furrowed, about to ask what was wrong, but before you could even get the words out, he bent down and hauled you over his shoulder in one smooth, effortless motion.
A sharp gasp left your lips. âJoel!â
âShoulda done this an hour ago,â he muttered, not even remotely apologetic. His grip tightened around the back of your thighs, adjusting you against him like you weighed nothing. And thenâjust to make sure you knew exactly what kind of mood he was inâhis palm slid up the back of your legs, landing a sharp swat against the bare skin of your ass.
A squeak slipped from your throat, your fingers digging into the back of his shirt as you squirmed in his hold.
âJoel!â you hissed, but he could hear the grin despite the scandalized tone.
âShhâŚâ He chuckled, his grip tightening around your thighs as he strode up the porch steps. âDonât want the neighbors pokinâ their heads out, do ya?â
The wood groaned beneath his boots, but he didnât so much as hesitate, not even as he crossed the threshold, kicking the door shut behind him without breaking stride. He had one thing on his mind.
One destination.
You barely had time to process the familiar path of your home before Joel was hauling you up the stairs like you werenât even thereâstill slung over his shoulder, still gripping onto him as your laughter mixed with the sound of his heavy footfalls.
And then suddenlyâyou were airborne.
A startled gasp left your lips as he bounced you onto the bed, the mattress dipping beneath you, breathless and winded. You propped yourself up on your elbows, hair tousled and wild, looking up at him as he stood at the edge of the bed, staring you down like he was about to devour you whole.
Your chest rose and fell, your pulse thrumming with a mixture of anticipation and amusement.
âWhatâs gotten into you, old man?â you teased, breathless but grinning.
Joel exhaled hard through his nose, shaking his head slightly as he pulled off your boots. Once discarded, he hooked his arms under your knees, dragging you down the mattress, pressing you into him. The motion sent your dress hiking up around your waist, leaving you spread open beneath him, your panties on perfect display.
âOh, hunny,â he drawled, looking at the damp patch on the fabric, âyou keepinâ this from me?â
Before you could answer, he leaned down, hands trailing up your thighs, easing them over his shoulders. The first brush of his lips against the fabric was slow, deliberateâa kiss to your panty-clad mound, soft but enough to make you shudder.Â
Then he kept going. Mouth trailing lower, teasing.
Your head tipped back at the feeling of his beard grazing your sensitive skin, a breathy moan slipping out as your elbows gave, dropping you onto the bed completely. One hand found his hair, gripping, your fingers tangling in the dark curls streaked with silver. He watched you, eyes drinking you in.Â
âN-no,â you breathed, âAlways yours, Joel,â
âI know, baby, I know.â he cooed, voice softer now, full of reverence. He reached up, gripping the gusset of your panties, wrapping a thick finger around the damp fabric, tugging it to the side to reveal exactly what he wanted. His beard scraped against you when he kissed the skin of your thigh, sending a shockwave through your body, making you twitch beneath him.
A whimper left your lips, your hips lifting without thinking.
Joel chuckled, low and knowing, watching as your pussy clenched around nothing.
âAw, sheâs flirtinâ with me, baby,â he murmured, voice thick with amusement, pressing another slow, deliberate kiss against you. His hands tightened on your thighs, holding you open, keeping you exactly where he wanted. âWish you could see just how pretty she looks right now.â
âJoel.â It was a whimper, a plea, a warning.
His lust blown eyes flicked up to yours, his mouth still hovering just over where you needed him most. âWhat is it, baby?â
You swallowed, hips shifting, heat pooling low in your belly.
âPlease.â
Joel hummed, dragging his mouth closer but still not giving you what you wanted. âPlease what?â
Because hell, heâd spent all damn day watching you, aching for you, burning with want while you smiled and laughed and let that damn dress drive him to madness. If anything, he deserved to have his fun now. He needed to hear you say it.
Your fingers flexed in his hair, a little tug, a little desperation, âPlease touch me, Daddy.â
Joelâs blood turned molten. Heat roared through him so fierce, so instant, it nearly knocked the air from his lungs. And maybe you knew exactly what that word did to him.
He dipped his head back down, tongue sliding through your folds, groaning against you as he finally gave in. You were so warm, so slick, so ready for him that he had to take a second just to breathe, just to let himself have this.
His hands gripped your thighs, thumbs pressing into soft flesh as he held you open for him, his mouth working slow, savoring. You shuddered beneath him, your fingers twisting into his hair, your body already arching toward his mouth like you couldnât help yourself.
His tongue flicked against your clit, lazy at first, teasing, before dipping lower to drink you in, groaning as he tasted you properly. Slow and deep, his tongue pressed inside you, inching in, sliding out, before licking back up and pursing his lips around your clit, sucking and grazing his teeth, making your hips jerk against his mouth.
His beard scraped against your thighs, rough and warm, the contrast making you tremble harder beneath him. Every movement was deliberate, unhurried, like he was relearning you all over again, savoring every sound, every twitch, every sharp gasp that slipped past your lips.
Joelâs hands flexed against your thighs, thumbs rubbing slow, soothing circles into your skin, grounding you as his mouth worked you into a pliant mess.
âNeed to get her ready for me,â he murmured, voice muffled against you, words spoken more to himself than to you. His mouth never left you as one broad hand slid between your legs, and you gasped as his fingers traced over your entrance, prodding the pool of arousal there.
âSo damn soft,â he muttered, dragging his mouth down to kiss the inside of your thigh, his breath hot against your slick skin. âAnd already so wet for me. She likes it when I take my time, donât she, baby?â
You could barely think, barely breathe, too lost in the slow, perfect way he touched you.
You only nodded, voice failing you as his finger finally pushed insideâjust one at first, easing in with aching patience, stretching you open. A ragged moan left your lips, fingers twisting in his hair as he curled it just right, pressing against that spot inside you that made your whole body shudder.
He hummed in approval, lips finding your clit again, his tongue swirling slow, matching the rhythm of his fingers.
âYou make the prettiest noises for me," he murmured against you, his voice thick and rough with hunger. He slid another finger in, stretching you wider, pumping them in and out in a slow, steady pace, feeling the way your walls fluttered around him.
Your body was already tightening, your thighs trembling, your breath hitching into soft, broken whimpers. You couldnât stop yourself from rocking into him, chasing that feeling, your pleasure building with every slow, deliberate stroke of his fingers, every teasing flick of his tongue.
Joel could feel it, the way you clenched down around him, the way your legs shook against his shoulders.
âThere she is,â he murmured, pressing a kiss right over your clit before sucking it back into his mouth, his fingers pressing up into your soft, velvety walls. âCome on, sweetheart. Let me feel her.â
That was all it tookâyour body tensed, the pleasure cresting and crashing all at once as you came around his fingers, a sharp, broken cry slipping from your lips. Your thighs squeezed around his head, but Joel didnât stop, didnât slow, working you through it, his tongue lapping up everything you gave him.
He groaned low, almost like he was the one falling apart, dragging his fingers slow as he eased you down, his lips pressing soft, open-mouthed kisses along your inner thigh.
âSo goddamn sweet for me,â he muttered, voice wrecked, his breath warm against your sensitive skin.
Your body was still trembling, the aftershocks rolling through you as Joel pressed one last lingering kiss to the inside of your thigh before pulling back.
He looked wrecked.
His beard glistened, slick with your release, lips swollen and parted, chest rising and falling a little too fast. His eyes were dark, heavy-lidded, drinking you in like he still couldnât quite believe you were real.
His hands slid up your legs, slow and deliberate, until they gripped your waist, spreading you open beneath him as he crawled over you, pressing his weight into you. The fabric of your dress was still bunched around your hips, the lace soft beneath his calloused hands, but he liked that you kept it on.
Something about how pretty you looked in it, something about knowing he was the only one who got to see you like this.
His hands found your face, cupping it, tilting your chin up, and then his mouth was on yours. Hot, deep and unyielding.
You moaned softly into the kiss, your fingers sliding into his hair as he stole every breath from your lungs. You could taste yourself on his lips, on his tongue, his beard damp against your chin as he pressed in harder, hungrier. It was so muchâtoo much and not enough all at once.
When he finally pulled back, just enough to breathe, you were looking up at him, your thumb brushing against the slick sheen on his jaw, your heart pounding.
"Can I take care of you, daddy?" you whispered, voice warm and so damn sweet it made his chest ache.
But he was already shaking his head, already unbuckling his belt, already too far gone to let you do anything but take him.
"Not tonight, baby," he murmured, his low drawl barely audible. His belt hit the floor, his jeans sliding low on his hips as he leaned down, pressing another kiss to your lips, softer this time.
"I need to feel you," he admitted, his voice quieter now, more raw. His hand ran down your thigh, fingers pressing into soft skin, feeling you, grounding himself in you. "If you put that pretty mouth on me, there wonât be a chance in hell I get to feel you cum on my cock, âcause Iâd be done in minutes with the state you got me in."
You let out a breathy laugh, eyes warm as your hands smoothed down his sides, fingers dipping into the waistband of his jeans, helping him push them lower.
"That bad, huh?" you teased.
Joel exhaled a shaky chuckle, dropping his forehead to yours, barely holding himself together as he pulled himself free.
"Worse," he admitted.
His cock was thick, flushed, leaking, the head dragging through your slick, teasing you. Joel groaned low at the feeling of your slick arousal coating the tip of himself, his lips brushing against yours as he lined himself up, his voice just a whisper.
âGonna let Daddy take care of you?â
You nodded. âYes.â
You arched your back into him, the flimsy straps of your dress slipping down your shoulders as you reached for him, arms winding around his neck, legs hooking around his waist like you couldnât stand the thought of space between you.
Joel sucked in a sharp breath as you pulled him in, his body pressing flush against yours. His one handed planted by your head, the other guiding the wide tip of his cock at your weeping entrance, then slowly sank into you like heâd been starving for it all damn day.
He had, in fact.
âJesus,â he rasped, voice strained as he bottomed out completely, a moan tearing through his throat as his forehead dropped to your shoulder. He held still for a second, letting you adjust, letting himself breathe before his lips brushed against your ear. âYou feel so fuckinâ good, baby. Always take my cock so good,âÂ
You were breathless, feeling split in two around him, your lips parted, jaw slack, head falling back against the bedspread. Joel took his time kissing along your jaw, lips trailing soft and slow as he felt the way your body tightened around him. His cock twitched despite how patient he was trying to be.
âDaddy,â you breathed, voice barely there, and as he pulled out inch by inch, he watched your eyes flutter shut, your body clenching down on him like you never wanted to let him go. Joel groaned, pushing back in, slow but deep, not stopping until his hips were pressed flush to yours.
And when he pulled out again, the obscene, wet sound of your slick walls taking him made you both moan in tandem, his agonizingly slow pace making every sensation sharper, every sound deeper, more electric.
Joel kissed the corner of your mouth, voice thick. âDoinâ so good for me, sweetheart. Sâlike she was made to take me, huh?â
You whined softly, hands fisting in the fabric of his shirt, legs tightening around him, desperate for more.
âNeedâneed you toââ you tried, but your mind was foggy, wrecked, gone. You needed more. Needed him to let go, to take it. Needed to feel the weight of all that pent-up frustration from the day, from the way youâd teased him with every flash of your thigh, every fleeting touch, every slow, knowing smile.
Joel kissed your temple, his hands roaming, soothing, adoring, wanting. âTell me, baby,â he murmured, âtell me what you need.â His lips brushed against your ear, his voice low and full of something tender. âIâll give you anythingâgive you the whole damn world if you asked.â
Your heart swelled, warmth pooling in your chest before another wave of want took over. You smiled up at him, fingers smoothing up his back, knowing exactly what you wanted to hear from him.
"Want it harder, Joel." Your voice was thick as you swallowed, mind finally clearing enough to put your need into words. "You were so good all day, even when you knew I was teasing."
You heaved a breath as his eyes opened fully, locking onto you, dark and unreadable as he listened.
"So polite," you murmured, pressing a slow kiss to his lips before your fingers slid into his hair, tightening just enough to make him exhale, "Such a gentleman. Show me, Joelâshow me what you wanted to take all day."
His eyes twinkled with amusement for a brief secondâright before you clenched down around him, your walls fluttering, pulling him deeper. His cock twitched, stiffened, his breath stalling as his fingers dug into your skin.
"You want me to fuck you stupid, baby? That what you need?" His voice was low, wrecked, something dark laced in it now. "Cause all I wanted to do all damn day was bend you over and shove my cock in you so goddamn bad. Show you exactly how crazy you make me."
"Show me," you whispered, pressing a kiss to his chin, his beard tickling your lips as it trailed along his jaw. "Please, Daddy. Let me feel it."
Joel didnât hesitate.
His hands tightened at your waist, steady and commanding, before sitting up and rolling you onto your stomach in one fluid motion. His cock stayed inside you, the shift in position knocking the air from your lungs, the new angle making you feel every inch of him in a way that had your fingers digging into the sheets.
Before you could even process it, his palms pressed between your shoulder blades, guiding you down until your chest met the mattress, ass lifted, legs spread, completely open for him.
Thatâs when you felt the delicate lace of your dress catching beneath his knee, the soft fabric now bunched awkwardly between you.
Your breath wavered. Fingers twitching against the sheets, you hesitated before murmuring, "Should I take this off?"
He smoothed a hand over your ass, his other gripping the bunched-up fabric of your dress so it was pulled into his fist.
"You're keepin' it on," he murmured, his voice edged with something rough, something final. The way his fingers tightened in the fabric told you just how much he'd already thought about this momentâhow long he'd wanted it, pictured it, waited for it, "want you just like this."
You barely had time to whimper before he pulled you back into him, sinking deep, stretching you open all over again.
Joel groaned, a long, deep, guttural noise from his throat, his one hand at your waist, the other pulling you back via his fist in your dress as he set the pace. He was slow at first, making sure you felt every thick inch, every ridge and vein of his throbbing cock before pulling out and snapping his hips forward again.
"Christ," he rasped, his free hand sliding up your spine, pressing between your shoulder blades, holding you steady as he leaned over you a bit, "You feel that, baby? Feel how fuckin' deep I am?"
All you could do was nod, moaning brokenly as he buried himself to the hilt, again and again, dragging you back onto him each time.
Joel groaned, dropping his head forward for a second before his grip tightened on your dress again, using it to pull you back into him.
"Greedy little thing," he murmured, his fingers gripping tighter at your waist as he rolled his hips deeper. "That what you wanted, baby? Want me to fuck you just like this?"
"Yes," you gasped, voice breaking on the word. "Just like that, Joel."
Your breath came rough and uneven, and then his grip on your dress tightened, fingers bunching up the fabric at your waist. He used it to pull you back onto him, meeting each thrust with an unrelenting force, his other hand splaying across your back to keep you steady.
"Look at you," he muttered, almost to himself, his voice thick with something wrecked and reverent all at once. "Takinâ it so good. My perfect girl."
The praise sent heat licking up your spine, your body tightening around him in response. He felt it, tooâfelt the way you clenched down on him, the way your legs trembled as he drove into you harder.
"Fuck, baby," he groaned, leaning over you as his hand slipped under you, fingers finding your clit and rubbing slow, teasing circles that made your breath hitch. "You gonna come for me again? Hmm?"
You nodded frantically, pushing back into him, desperate for more. "Please, Joel," you whimpered. "Need it."
"Yeah, I know," he murmured, his voice softer now, lips brushing the back of your shoulder, his thrusts still deep but growing rougher, more urgent. "Gonna give it to you, sweetheart. Gonna feel you come all over me."
His fingers pressed firmer against your clit, circling in a perfect rhythm as his cock dragged against that sweet spot inside you, his name slipping from your lips in a broken moan as the tension in your belly tightened, ready to snap.
"That's it, baby," Joel groaned, voice ragged. "Come for me, let me feel her on my cock."
And with the way he was moving, the way he was touching you, the way he was whispering those wrecked, adoring words against your skinâyou had no choice but to let go.
Pleasure sparked white over you in waves, your walls fluttering around him as your body shook, your voice lost in a strangled cry. Joel cursed under his breath, his thrusts faltering for a moment as he felt you unravel around him, his hands gripping you tight, holding you through it.
"That's my girl," he muttered, voice thick, pressing soft kisses to the back of your neck as he kept moving, chasing his own release, determined to follow you over the edge, "Good fucking girl,"
Joelâs thrusts turned sloppy, desperate, deep, his hips stuttering as he chased his own release. His grip on your waist tightened, his breath coming in sharp, uneven gasps.
âFuck,â he groaned, voice thick and wrecked, his body locking up as he buried himself to the hilt, pressing deep, holding you there.
And then he was gone.
A deep, guttural moan tore from his throat as he spilled inside you, heat flooding you as his cock pulsed, his arms wrapping around your waist, pulling you flush against him as he rode it out. He pressed his forehead against your back, breath warm against your skin, hands smoothing over your hips as if grounding himself, holding you tight, keeping you close.
He stayed there for a moment, still inside you, his chest rising and falling against your back, lips trailing soft, absentminded kisses along your shoulder as he caught his breath. His hands never stopped moving, stroking your skin with quiet adoration.
"You okay, baby?" he murmured into your hair as he placed a kiss on your head, voice low and tender, so different from the way heâd just wrecked you.
You nodded, still catching your breath, body still trembling from the intensity of it all.
Joel pressed a final kiss to your cheek before slowly, carefully pulling out, groaning low at the sight of where heâd filled you up, his release already starting to slip out of you.
"Made a mess of you, darlinâ," he muttered, his voice warm, affectionate. "Stay right there."
You barely had the strength to move, muscles still loose and spent, but you felt the bed shift as Joel slipped away. You blinked sleepily as he disappeared into the bathroom, only to return a moment later with a damp cloth.
His hands were gentle, reverent as he cleaned you up, taking his time, murmuring soft words of praise under his breath.
"There we go, baby," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your lower back as he worked. "Always take care of my girl."
Once he was satisfied, he reached for the bunched-up fabric of your dress, his fingers sliding beneath the hem.
"Letâs get this off you, sweetheart," he murmured, voice thick with exhaustion but still warm, still full of something tender.
His touch was unhurried, guiding the fabric up your body, letting the fabric peel away from your skin, soft and slow. as you held your arms up for him. He didnât rush, didnât let the moment pass without appreciating you all over again.
Once it was gone, he tossed it aside and crawled up beside you in the bed to pull you into his arms, rolling you onto your side, tucking you against his chest.
His arms were strong, solid and warm, one hand smoothing up and down your back, the other tangling in your hair as he pressed a lingering kiss to the top of your head.
"You still with me?" he murmured, lips ghosting over your temple.
You hummed softly, pressing closer, letting yourself melt into his embrace.
"Good," he sighed, voice low, spent, but content. His fingers traced slow, aimless circles along your spine, his heartbeat strong and steady beneath your cheek, anchoring you to him, "Love you, sweetheart,"
"I love you, Joel." you murmured, your voice barely there, the warmth of him pulling you under into a deep sleep.

you're no good for me, but baby i want you - n. riki âśâ.Ë

summary: after growing tired of his constant teasing you made up your mind not to give Niki anymore of your attention, but you should've known that he wouldn't let you go that easily - and is willing to go to desperate measures to get you just to look at him ââââ delinquent Niki x class president reader || sfw but a little suggestive, kissing/making out, so much tension like so much, enemies to lovers sorta? || w/c: 2.7k
a/n: okay i'm trying to get better at writing longer fics/ones that actually have closure bc looking back i realise i kinda always leave u guys on cliffhangers LOLL - also i rlly tried to avoid making this too cliche given the trope i hope it worked !!! actually really like this one so i hope it doesn't flop rip
âBad boyâ felt too cliche - at least for your liking. You preferred to refer to Niki as what he was, a delinquent, a troublemaker, someone who skipped most of his classes and spent the rest dosing off or arguing with the teacher. But no matter what you called him you were sure of one thing, he pissed you off.
To be honest, you had absolutely no interest in the sorts of things a student like him got up to in his own time, but it was the fact that he insisted on dragging you into his business that irritated you the most. You werenât sure why exactly he kept targeting you, maybe it was because he just wanted to mess with the class president or because you seemed like an easy target to him - whatever reason he had didnât make it any less tiring though.
Skipping classes was one thing, but his constant breaches of uniform code meant that you were running out of warning slips - and patience. It didnât help that whenever you did, he would only look you up and down with an amused smirk, brows raised as if daring you to continue telling him off - which only worked to make you stumble over your words.
Thatâs why you had made the decision to stop giving him anymore of your attention, and the most recent time you had seen him sporting his signature look - no blazer, dress shirt half unbuttoned and several silver earrings, you chose to ignore him. You simply walked past him in the hallway without so much as a passing glance, hoping it would tell him to stop wasting your time and causing trouble.
Little did you know, he would misinterpret your signs to mean the exact opposite.
The next morning when you were waiting at your desk you heard a wave of hushed murmurs coming from down the hall, and couldnât help but feel partly responsible. A loud thud sent the classroom door flying open and a couple of his friends filed in with amused grins - and it was only when Niki followed them in did you see why. Not only had he gone and messily bleached parts of his jet black hair, but he now donned a piercing straight through his right eyebrow which, judging from the pink tinge surrounding it, was both brand new and self-made.
You were unable to stop your neck from craning as your eyes followed his figure, watching as he sauntered over to his desk in the back corner of the classroom, threw his books onto it and sat down. The expression on his face showed that he couldnât care less about being there, but his eyes trained on you as if waiting for you to make a move.
You hated that he knew you so well, because before you knew it you were out of your seat and at the head of his desk, arms folded with a stern expression on your face. You canât remember exactly what you said but it mustâve been harsh, and loud enough to summon the attention of almost the entire class, and your teacher who stormed into the classroom shortly after to tell the two of you off. It mustâve also been harsh enough to earn the two of you an after-school detention, which was your very first - though it clearly wasnât Nikiâs.
So thatâs how the two of you had ended up alone, in an empty, hot classroom - waiting as the minutes of your detention ticked by agonisingly slowly. Irritated was an understatement. It was taking every ounce of self-control you had not to turn around and punch Niki right there and then. You kept your fuming to yourself, at least for now though, while you worked silently on an assignment, determined to at least make good use of being stuck here for the next hour or so - even if it meant spending it in a tense silence.
Niki didnât seem to share the same sentiment, having sat himself in the chair right beside yours and kicked his feet up on the desk, twirling a pen in one hand as he hummed softly to himself. You were trying your best to ignore him, and he was trying his best to make that very difficult.
âWhat are you working on?â he asked curiously as he leaned in over your shoulder.
âJust an assignment,â you shot back curtly.
âAh of course, what a goody-two shoes,â he scoffed as he sat back.
âRather a goody-two shoes than a good-for-nothing delinquent,â you mumbled under your breath, though not quiet enough to escape his ears.
âA delinquent? Is that really what you think of me?â he asked in faux-offence, âIâm hurt.â You turned slightly, just enough to see the dramatic pout he had formed across his lips, his brows curving upwards and his piercing going with it.
âWhatever,â you huff, feeling both irritation and exhaustion rise in you, âitâs your fault weâre here in the first place anyways.â
âOh yeah, my fault that you started a petty argument.â
âYour fault for dyeing your hair that stupid colour and getting that piece of metal jammed in your face!â You cry out, fully facing him now as you felt your face burning hot, âI mean seriously, all I did was ignore you once, and you go ahead and did something ridiculous like that?â Gesturing to his piercing and new hair, you canât help but feel even more infuriated at the sight of his smirk which only grew as he watched you from half-lidded eyes.
âWhat makes you think I did it for you?â He asks teasingly, and you suddenly feel your bravado begin to crumble - heâs right, who are you to assume that?
âWell, I-â you stutter, but he interrupts you.
âWell maybe I did,â he laughs softly, âthat depends on whether you like it or not.â
âThat is so besides the point, Niki,â you whine, âitâs against uniform policy.â
âOh câmon, you think itâs a little cool,â he taunts, and you turn back around in your seat, chewing your bottom lip as youâre determined not to give him a response which youâre sure will only fuel his ego.
You sit in silence for a bit, and you can tell heâs watching you carefully in the way he leans in, keen eyes trained on your expression - almost as if heâs trying to figure out what youâre thinking. But thatâs a challenge even youâre struggling with right now.
Heâs the one to break the silence again. âI am sorry about getting you a detention though, that wasnât what I meant to do.â You blink in disbelief because for the very first time, he sounds almost as if he really means what heâs saying.
âIs that an apology?â you say, gasping to show your surprise, though this quickly dissolved into a soft laugh.
âYeah, yeah, donât let it get to your head,â he sighs, âI just couldnât sit here and watch you sulk for the next hour.â
You canât help but smile to yourself, feeling the tension between the two of you melt away at his apology, just enough for you to want to keep talking to him - even if it means neglecting your homework, for now. Your eyes move over his face, his sharp jaw, his eyebrow piercing glinting under the warm classroom light.
âDid it hurt?â
Itâs a stupid question, you know, but itâs the only thing you can think to ask as you fiddle nervously in your seat. If youâre being completely honest, you do think itâs cool, youâve always thought his piercing were cool - and right now you want nothing more than to reach out and feel them for yourself. But your common sense stops you.
âWell, duh,â he scoffs, sitting back in his seat as his eyes fix on yours, âfigured a smart-ass like you wouldâve been able to guess that.â
âJust asking,â you grumble defensively, though your curiosity urges you to keep talking. âIf it hurt, whyâd you do it?â
âWell, you like it, donât you?â He asks, âthatâs all the reason I need.â
Youâre tempted to tell him off again, but something about his tone catches you off guard - itâs oddly earnest, and he says it with such a simplicity that makes you really believe that maybe heâs telling the truth and youâre unable to find the resolve to spoil this moment
âCan I feel it?â
Heâs almost as shocked by your request as you are, and even as it leaves your mouth youâre unsure entirely why youâre asking it. His eyes widen in a way that you canât help but find a little cute, even as youâre struggling to process your own thoughts.
âSure,â he replies, a little too quickly, almost as if he had been waiting for you to ask him that, but canât believe you actually did. You turn in your chair to face him, your arms coming up awkwardly to bridge the distance between you both but itâs clear youâre still too far.
Youâre about to lean forward more in your seat to reach him, until you notice his hand coming down to grip the leg of your chair and it isnât until you feel yourself moving and hear the faint screech of the legs against the floor that you realise that heâs pulling it - pulling you closer to him.
Once youâre close enough he stops, though his hand doesnât leave the back of your chair, instead resting there as if trapping you in with him as he leans down as that his face is level with yours. You try not to overthink the way your knees are touching, or how this is your first time seeing him this close and how heâs even better looking up close. Carefully, you bring your hand and pray that he doesnât notice the way it trembles, as your thumb grazes his thick brow gently. Even though you wish he didnât, he keeps his eyes open and you can feel the weight of his gaze on you as your fingers close around the small metal ball.
âItâs cold,â you mumble, not sure what else to say to fill the air between you two.
âItâs metal,â he says matter-of-factly, letting out a small laugh at your fascination with it.
âYou didnât need to to do this just to get my attention, you know,â your eyes focus on the piercing as you speak, unable to look him in the eyes when admitting something that feels like a confession.
âI had to get you to look at me somehow.â Youâre again amazed at how he can say such earnest things with such a serious face, and even as you look away you know his eyes are on you.
âMost people wouldâve just said hi or something, not put a brand new hole in their face,â you sigh, fingers moving to tuck a stray strand of bleached hair behind his ear.
âWell most people wouldnât be here now with you touching their face, so by my standards my plan worked better.â
âDid that plan have to include getting me my first-ever detention?â You ask in annoyance, though you canât help but laugh softly at his simplicity.
âWell, not at first,â he admits, âbut at least weâre alone, hm?â
âBecause you need me alone to talk to me?â
âNo, because I need you alone to do this.â
Youâre pretty sure if you werenât already leaning towards him you wouldâve fallen backwards from the forceful way his lips crash into yours - and if not from that then the sheer shock of just that. Luckily for you though, he already has an arm snaked around your waist, keeping a hold of you and pulling you closer.
It shocks you though that, despite the initial force, Nikiâs kiss is gentle, almost as if heâs easing you into something he knows youâre struggling to accept. Heâs experienced, thatâs for sure, but you can tell in his movements that heâs holding back from pushing you any further.
You donât even realise it but your hands are cupping his face, caressing his strong jawline and pulling him closer to you. You open your mouth to talk but the only noise that comes out is a breathy gasp and if you werenât so caught up in the feeling of his hands in your hair you mightâve stopped to feel embarrassed about how desperate you sound for him right now.
âNiki,â you mumble against his lips, unsure of what to do as you feel your mind struggle to comprehend whatâs happening.
âWant me to stop?â he says in between heavy breaths, and even though it sounds like a taunt you know him well enough to know heâs being serious.
You shake your head in response, but decide to have a little fun of your own while you can. âWhen have you ever cared what I want?â
âOh, you have no clue,â he hums in a low whisper as he leans back in.
âAnd when have you ever listened to what Iâve told you to do?â
âYouâre right about that,â he smirks, pressing his lips to yours again, this time with the reckless abandon youâve come to expect from him - almost as if he was waiting for your permission to let go. You thought you wouldâve felt a little predictable, pathetic even, for having fallen so easily into his trap and giving him much more than just your attention at this point. But from the way his hands roam your body, grasping for more of you as he whines against your lips you smile to yourself at the realisation that really, heâs the one whoâs fallen into your trap.
This sense of control is what finally calms your mind, even if it still struggles with just how âwrongâ all of this sounds against how right his lips on yours feel. The sound of footsteps echoing down the hallway however forces you to tear yourself away from him, though his hands donât leave your body as you strain to figure out who it might be.
âShit, itâs the teacher,â you say under your breath, pulling away from him to smooth down your skirt. Niki clearly doesnât care, but still lets out a soft sigh as he hangs his head, leaning back in his chair.
âTomorrow,â you continue suddenly, âI want the eyebrow piercing and the bleached hair gone.â You know youâre being harsh, but you also know that, given what just happened, you canât afford to be nice.
âWh-â he says suddenly, looking at you in disbelief, âI thought you liked them though.â
âDoesnât matter,â you say firmly, âtheyâre still breaking like ten different uniform rules.â
âJust when I thought Iâd finally broken your guard down,â he groans.
âWell, theyâve served their purpose already, havenât they?â you taunt lightly, bringing a hand up to swipe at your bottom lip which you can feel is a little plump from him biting it. His eyes watch attentively as you do, and he lets out a soft laugh followed by a nod in agreement.
âYouâre right,â he exhales, âbut now Iâm thinking if I keep them in I might keep getting lucky.â
âNiki,â you sigh.
âI mean, maybe if I had a reward for following rules I might feel more motivated,â he hums, looking away as he feigns innocence.
You pause, thinking to yourself for just long enough. âIâll be studying in the library after school, maybe if you do as I say Iâll let you join me.â
âStudying? Thatâs what weâre calling it now?â
âTake it or leave it.â
âIâll be there,â he laughs, leaning back in his chair with a satisfied smile - one that you canât help but share even as the same teacher who gave you both this detention comes in to tell you youâre free to go.
You watch as he swings his bag over one shoulder coolly, tossing you his signature smirk - only this time, it doesnât just annoy you, it lingers, sticking to your thoughts in a way you donât want to admit. Because you know you should be mad, you should roll your eyes and remind yourself that heâs still the same infuriating troublemaker. But as he walks away the only thing you find yourself wondering is if heâll actually show up tomorrow, and worse, if a part of you wants him to.

It was strange that he kept his eyes on you more than anyone in the games. The moment he saw your shaking figure among the crowd of people in the green suits, he felt his breath get stuck in his throat. You were looking around with eyes that were full of fear, hands wrapped around yourself and holding back tears as others started an argument in the middle. You listened as someone complained about his shoes being so expensive, and someone asking for his phone, an old lady argue with her son and guards answering the playersâs questions with patience.
He kept his eyes on you as the first game started. He saw your eyes widen when someone was shot right in front of you, and he watched you as you realise the seriousness of the game you accepted to take part in. Gi-hun was interesting to him, yes. He was searching for them, for him have been for years now. And he was brave enough to come back to the games just to find who was behind them. He respected his determination. Yet there was something about you that he could not name. Something captivating. Something that shifted things in him, made his skin sting in ecstasy as you nearly moved when the doll turned around. You looked around with those innocent eyes and blood of someone flowing down your cheek, he felt his trouser tighten. A small, tingly sensation took over his loins and made him frown in confusion. He had never taken a liking to a someone, let alone a little, fragile thing like you.
When he found the video of you playing ddajki with the recruiter, he felt himself get harder and harder as he watched you spill tears in pain every single time you received a hard slap on your cheek. The camera captured the noises you made as your body was falling backwards with every single slap. The recruiter hit you hard and In-ho wandered if you would sound the same when he pounded you hard on his bed. He took his mask off and palmed himself trough his trouser as he kept replaying the video over and over again. When he was finished spilling his seed into his palm, he wished that was your mouth wrapped around his tip instead.
When the first game finished and your number and picture still shone bright on the floor, you voted for âXâ and expected everyone to vote same as you. Yet you were so wrong when the last player 001 and all others voted âOâ, causing all of you to stay in this hellhole. You felt tears fill your eyes as some people were cheering with victory in front of you. You sat down on one of the beds at the front and hugged your legs with disappointment. As you were thinking what was going to happen next, you felt someone sit next to you.
âIâm sorry, I thought staying was the best option.â Said the man who was looking at you, watching your tears flow down your flushed cheeks. You looked at his number and saw 001 in bright white font. He was the person who voted last and made the decision. You sighed and shook your head.
âIt is not only you, sir. Half of us wanted to stay.â You said as you pointed at the people who had the âOâ banners on their right side. He did not look at the direction you were pointing at, he kept his eyes on. You were so pretty when you cried. He wandered how beautiful you would look when you were overstimulated with his fingers in you. He felt his cock twicth when you looked at him again. Your lips were plump, and the tip of your nose was red. He wandered how your tears would taste like.
âWe have a winner here. I thought we could use this for our advantage.â He explained as he pointed at Gi-hun who looked very troubled not so far away from you. Your eyes were on the last winner when you felt the man beside you stand up and take few steps towards the player 456. Yet he stopped mid way and looked back at you, as if he was waiting for you to follow him. And for some reason you wiped your tears away and followed him like a lost puppy as he walked towards the previous winner of the games who was already accompanied by few guys who kept asking him questions.
And the small group was formed with two of you joining them. You did not know much about others, did not trust them meanwhile player 001 was confident and comfortable talking to them. When he sat down next to Gi-hun, his eyes pointed at the small space next to his feet, so you sat down there. Being close to him brought you a sense of safety. He was the first person who approached you in this mess of a place with kindness. You did not know him, didnât know his name or why he was here. Yet there was a look in his eyes that made you want to stick beside him.
When everyone went to sleep, In-ho looked at your resting form. You were wrapped in the thin blanket and was curled up into a ball. He looked at your curves that were visible from the tracksuit, his mouth watered. You were so frightened and powerless. You needed someone to protect you in the games. Someone who would look after you, make sure you make it alive. He knew what humans were capable of doing in a place like this. People were going to go mad and hurt one another viciously. Would he be able to just stand and watch if you got hurt?
Your soft whimpers and cries brought him back to reality. When you woke up from your few hours of sleep drenched in sweat and tears flowing down your cheeks, he crawled to you, in the darkness of the hall. He reached out to you, from the metal bars of the beds, and held your shoulder. You squirmed in fear and was about to scream until a large hand covered your mouth.
âItâs me.â He whispered to your ear as his whole body was pressed against your back, other arm wrapped around your shoulders. He was towering over you, as you felt sweat drops make their way to your neck from your temple.
He let go of your mouth, but his touch did not leave your body when he moved to sit next to you. He was close, his breath hitting your face and neck when he looked at you with observing eyes that did not give any feelings away. His touch made your heart beat fast and quicken your breaths, yet you did not want him to stop holding you.
âBad dream?â He whispered, his voice is low yet deep enough to make your insides shake. You nodded when tears filled your eyes again. The images of dead bodies all over the playground haunted you since the moment you came back from the game as winners. You didnât want to cry in front of anyone, but you felt like he would not mind seeing you cry.
He nodded along with you, almost like a grown up talking to a little kid and mirror her moves to befriend her. When he saw your bottom lip tremble and eyes full of fear scan the hall of people sleeping, he felt his loins burn in need. The face you made when you were scared and felt alone was enough to make him cum in his underwear without any touch.
Without hesitation he brought your body closer to his own and his arms embraced your shaking form with mercy. You buried your face into the crook of his neck and wrapped your smaller arms around his waist. He was warm. Very warm that you felt your fingertips burn over his body. When you breathed in and out in the crook of his neck, all In-ho wanted to do was throw your body back into the bed, rip those clothes off of you and ravage you in front of dozens of people without any care. The though of fucking you, turning you into mass in front of them, giving them a show as he claimed you, sent shivers down his spine.
âIâm so scared,â you whispered, your crying voice reaching his ear as he tried to hold back a smile at your situation. You were so helpless that you were crying in the arms of the man who was the reason why you were still here. He was a stranger, who had the potential to do anything. Yet here you were, quivering against his chest and making his member throb in need.
âIâm here.â He said. And you had no chance but trusting him.
âââââââ
The next game you were automatically given the Gong-gi game as the only female in the group. Yet your hands were shaking when it was your turns to play after player 390 completed his part successfully. When you missed two times, you were so sure you were going to die and worse, be the reason for everyoneâs death in your group.
He watched you panick, drop the pebbles and fail to catch them midair. Everyone around you was getting inpatient and scared naturally. Even tho he loved the way you were struggling and feeding into his twisted desire, he could not let you die. He held your waist and stopped the trembling of your body. You looked at him under your lashes that were wet with your tears and went back to work once he gave you a reassuring smile. With that you managed to catch all the pebbles in your palm and passed the round.
It was then, you felt something was off, when it was his turn to play his own game. The top kept slipping from his hands or landed wrong on the floor that was covered in the blood of eliminated players. You wanted to step back yet could not because of the ties when he started to scream in anger and slap himself. There was a crazy, off-putting look in his eyes. It was less uncomfortable when he was looking at you, yet it was still there. His eyes made your skin crawl and stomach twist in sickness. You did feel safe around him. But not like you would feel safe with a family member, a friend, or a lover. It felt like he was a wolf who claimed a lamb, kept her on his chest and waited for right moment to eat her.
When your group managed to survive and go back to the hall, he kept to you close. His hand was on your back, leading you to your bed. When it was mealtime, he gave half of his food to you, telling you to not to worry about him when you tried to reject him. He watched you until you finished all your food. After all of you exchanged names, he watched you talk to player 388 about his time in marine and watch you laugh when he was talking excitedly, telling everyone how prideful he was about his military service. He watched your tears dry up as you listened to the conversation that was flowing in the group. Your smile made his stomach twist and his jaw clench.
Your hopes once again were shattered when people voted for âOâ more than âXâ and decided to continue playing the games. Young-il wiped your tears away and convinced you to get some sleep for the night. You could only relax and fall asleep when he sat next to you on your bed and caressed your head as he decided to stay awake. He looked extraordinarily strong to you. He did not need to sleep, gave his food to others, calm people down when everyone was scared, raged and pass the games like it was nothing. Most importantly, he held you close no matter what. Did not mind you cry and fail and fall. Maybe it was a sense of guilt he felt, for making you stay in the first round of voting, you thought.
ââââââ
Next morning he held your hand when everyone was taken to the new game. It was mingle. Your group had decided to stay together. You were grateful that they had take you in and did not leave you alone. You all took your place on the platform and started to spin as the song was playing. You felt his hand get tighter around yours, reminding you that he was here with you.
10
You ran as fast as you can and took deep breaths when all 10 of you finally managed to get into a room. The sound of lock made you jump slightly. You saw Young ilâs eyes on Gi-hun as he pulled you under his arm. The images of him looking at Gi-hun since the moment you met him lingered on your mind until the woman who claimed to be a shaman started to speak loudly in the middle of the room. As you waited for gunshots to stop and doors to open, you could not help but wonder the reason behind Young ilâs weird behaviour about Gi-hun. He seemed to get along with him. Seemed to respect his ideas and experiences about this place. They seemed to understand one another, somehow. Yet that unexplainable look in 001 eyes was making you shift uncomfortably in your place.
Until last round, you had no chance but sticking beside Young il. As you entered rooms and people kept dying outside, you became more paranoid. And when it came to the last round, Jeong-bae asked how many people it was going to be this time. Without hesitation Young-il answered.
â2.â And it was it. When the song stopped and the platform stopped spinning, Young il held your hand tighter than before, and started to run to closest room. As you were trying to catch up with his pace, someone bumped into you, causing you to lose your balance and stumble midway. Young il turned around immediately and wrapped his arms around your waist. He lifted you like a piece of feather and made his way to the yellow door that was already opened by a guy. Young il pushed you into the room and threw the other guy away from the door. When you scanned the room, your eyes were met with pair of foreign eyes.
âOut.â Young il said sharply to the other man in the room.
âWe were here first.â The man said, his voice cracking as he was shaking in fear. Person behind the door tried to open it. You pushed your back against the door and held it with all of your strength. There was not much time left, and you were afraid that all of you were going die in this room.
Young il grabbed the man and locked his arms around his head. As they scooped to the floor, his arms got tighter around the player 343âs neck. You were still holding the door and preventing the other player to get in. For a second Young ilâs intense gaze met with yours and you couldnât look away.
He looked into your eyes, showing no emotion or weakness as the man he was choking started to turn purple. Your breath got stuck in your throat, your knees were shaking, and your palms were getting sweaty with the scene taking place in front of you. As there were few seconds left for the countdown, Young il twisted the manâs neck. The sound of bone cracking filled the room along with the sound of door locking behind you. He kept his eyes on you, as he tossed the dead body of the side.
The lifeless body of player 343 laid on the ground and the gunshots filled your ear. The screams of people scratched your brain, and you finally managed to close your eyes. He had killed someone in front of you, broke his neck with one swift motion and he had no emotion on his face as he did it. Your heart was beating so fast that you thought it was going to fail at some point. Then the images of him came to your mind. When he knocked down player 124 and 230 as he looked down at them with those emotionless eyes, when he carelessly slapped himself in the second game, when he looked at Gi-hun as if he wanted to strangle him when he thought no one was looking, when he pushed everyone out of his way to get both of you to safety during the mingle game and now when he killed someone.
âOpen your eyes.â He breathed out, his breath hitting your face. Suddenly you felt his warmth surrounding you and him towering over your head. You slowly opened your eyes and there he was. Looking down at you, his eyebrows lifted up and with a mocking look in his eyes. His face was close to yours. Yet it did not feel comforting and safe like it did a night ago, when he was comforting you after a nightmare.
âWhat did you do?â Your voice was shaky and sounded terrified as you tried to look at the dead body that was in the corner of the room. He did not let you look away with his fingers finding your chin and holding it tight. He held you with those hands that just took the life of someone. You felt chills going down your spine.
âI made sure that we survived.â He whispered without breaking eye contact with you. You could hear soldiers cleaning up the mess outside of the rooms.
âYou killed him.â You tried to shake his touch away, yet he didnât let you. Instead, he got closer, until you were trapped between him and the door. His hot breath made your skin tingle, and his touch made you wanna cry.
âYes.â He said, and his lips touched your cheek that was wetted by your tears. His lips planted a soft kiss onto your skin. The kiss made you feel dizzy and your knees weak.
âFor you.â He continued. His words made you freeze in your spot. His lips traced over your skin like a ghost and reached the corner of your lips. âOnly for youâ He kissed the side of your mouth, softly, gently, with mercy. You wanted to rip his hands off of you, and run away. The floor beneath your feet was slippery with the blood of eliminated players. If you slipped and fell, would he let you go?
âAll for you.â His lips found your chin, then your nose, then your other cheek. He did not rush or hold you harsh enough to hurt. Yet knowing that he had just killed someone with those hands made you wanna throw up.
Your tears dropped to his lips, and he licked his lips as if he was dying over thirst. And when he made eye contact with you again, it was the first time you saw a clear human emotion in his eyes. An emotion he did not try to hide or was afraid to show; yearning. You did not know if it was for you or winning. In both cases, it terrified you to your very being.
âStop!â You said as sobs filled your mouth and he pressed his forehead against yours hard. You felt him shake his head, his arms wrapping around your fragile, little body compared to his strong form.
âI will give you everything you want, you need.â He said and pressed his lips against yours. Without waiting, his tongue made his way into your mouth, forcing your lips to open up for him. You felt the dizzy feeling take over your head. Your ears were ringing, your mind was foggy as he kissed you harsh, deep. There was no power left in your body, so you just let yourself to his arms.
His teeth crushed against yours and he was biting every corner of your lips until he drew blood. The irony taste filled your senses, made you jump. You did not know if it was you bleeding or him. But there was blood everywhere. Covering your tongue, your lips and staining your chin as your shared spit escaped from the corner of your lips. You felt your body burn all over. Your back was arching like a cat to get any closer to him, and there was a soreness between your legs that made your clit throb. You felt shame fill you and guilt making you wanna cry out. Instead, you kept kissing him, devouring him, eating him as much as you could.
You whined and pushed your head towards him when he parted your kiss with the sound of lock. The door was opened. The third game was finished. There was still a dead man in the room. Your mouth was covered in blood, making you look like you just feasted on someone. And his eyes were on you, watching you.

Hey there! Iâve got a little request for you.
What about a fic where the reader has to go back in time to the 40s (perhaps for an infinity stone? Work it however you want). Itâs supposed to be a quick mission. Until they run into a young Bucky.
a/n: hi anon! i hope you donât mind but i made some tweaks to the request to fit the story i came up with. however, the original idea of reader going to the 40s is still there!
warnings/notes: angst, fluff, sort of an enemies to lovers piece
summary: after accidentally sending yourself back in time, you run into a younger version of the man you loathe only to find yourself questioning your feelings for him
âYouâre such a jerk!â
âOh, so saving your ass makes me a jerk now?â Bucky retorts in annoyed disbelief at your insult. The two of you havenât exactly been getting along as of late, so it wasnât a surprise to either of you that your first assignment together was proving to be disastrous.
âSaving me?â You repeat incredulously, halting in your steps to whirl around and angrily point a finger against his chest. The firmness of his muscles has you faltering for a split second, but youâre adamant not to let your stupid little school girl crush on the man stop you from tearing into him.
Sometimes youâre not even sure why you have feelings for someone who constantly pushes your buttons and tests your patience, but itâs hard not to fall for his good looks and charm, especially during the rare moments of pleasantness you experience when heâs not getting on your nerves. You and Bucky rarely see eye-to-eye, and though for the most part you can tolerate each other, your camaraderie doesnât last long.
âShoving me out of the way when I had a clear shot isnât saving me! I had it covered before you decided to play hero and treat me like some damsel in distress!â
âYou had a clear shot and so did the sniper sitting on that rooftop,â Bucky points out with an irritated tick of his jaw. âYou couldnât have gotten the hit with a bullet hole in your head.â
You falter momentarily at being presented with your error, face beginning to heat with embarrassment at being in the wrong. However, your stubborn nature takes over and causes you to double down on your anger instead of admitting fault.
âI donât need your help. In fact, because of your little stunt my inhibitor is broken,â you state indignantly while lifting your wrist to show the damaged metal band, âso now I have no way to safely get us home.â
Bucky blanches at the realization, and now itâs his turn to feel hot with embarrassment and guilt for his mistake. Youâre one of the enhanced members on the team, an Avenger with the power to teleport not only from place to place but also through time, but your ability isnât always the most reliable. It can be unstable when used too often or without proper concentration, which is why Tony had crafted your inhibitor bracelet to ensure you didnât accidentally teleport yourself or your teammates to the middle of nowhere. You didnât trust yourself to make the jump back to the compound without it, and now the two of you were stranded.
He curses under his breath and runs an anxious hand through his hair before saying, âWeâll have to call for someone to come get us.â
âNo shit,â you retort only to earn an eye roll from him in response. âBut thatâs going to take hours, and if we stay here weâre dead.â
âLook,â Bucky sighs depreciatively, âwe need to figure this out together, so Iâd appreciate a little less sarcasm and a little more-â
The sound of gunfire interrupts Buckyâs rant and sends you both ducking for cover. Your arguing had allowed enough time for the enemy to counterattack with an ambush, and now you were cornered with nowhere to go. You find yourself pressed against a metal crate, making yourself as small as possible while trying to form some sort of an exit plan. Your attackers were closing in, and you felt the anxiety beginning to rise in your chest at the fact that you had nowhere left to run.
Bucky calls your name frantically, breaking you out of your panicked daze quickly enough for you to register the woman approaching you with her gun raised. Your eyes widen like a deer caught in headlights, and when she pulls the trigger you feel your powers activate on instinct as youâre teleported out of the line of fire.
You land on the ground with a groan.
Tingles run down your body from the use of your powers, and it takes you a moment to adjust to the new surroundings you find yourself in. The packing warehouse youâd been dodging gunfire fire in is long gone, and instead you find yourself in an alleyway nestled between two apartment buildings. Your mind is frantic as you try to scramble back up onto your feet only to crumple down in pain from your fall. You think youâve twisted your ankle, and you donât know where you are or how to get back home.
You attempt to use your powers to jump back to the warehouse to help Bucky, but without the inhibitor bracelet your teleportation has become shoddy. You let your head fall back with a frustrated groan at being completely helpless and try to clear your mind to figure out your next move.
âExcuse me,â an oddly familiar voice calls from the other end of the alleyway, âare you alright, miss?â
You lift your head at the sound of approaching footsteps and are met with a set of kind blue eyes that have your breath catching in your throat. His face is so much younger and full of life, not yet tainted by the trauma heâd endured after the events of the war. Heâs beautiful, and you find your heart nearly leaping out of your chest when he makes his way towards you. He reaches out to you with his left hand, and you stare down with uncertainty at the warm flesh that replaces metal.
Youâd accidentally sent yourself back in time, and now you found yourself face to face with a Bucky who had yet to become the Winter Soldier.
âI⌠Iâm fine,â you finally manage to get out after willing away your initial shock. You hesitantly accept his hand and are unnerved by the unusual warmth his palm emits against your own. He helps you back onto your feet only for you to stumble as a result of your bad ankle. His strong arms catch you in an instant, holding you upright while you brace yourself against his firm chest.
âLooks like you had quite the fall,â Bucky says with a lighthearted smile while meeting your gaze. You see something shift in his features when he looks into your eyes, an awestruck sense of admiration washing over him as he takes in your disheveled appearance. You begin to fear that he has you figured out, that somehow he knows who you are and that you donât belong, but instead he merely wipes away a smudge of dirt from your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
âYouâre a knockout,â he compliments before letting out a sheepish laugh at his own boldness. Your stomach flips at his confession, and you have to stop and remind yourself that this is a completely different Bucky from the one you know. The Bucky you have back at home would sooner call you a pain in his ass than ever call you beautiful.
âThank you,â you breathe out nervously, flashing him a meek smile while subtly trying to free yourself from his hold. You have no idea what repercussions will come from you interacting with him, and you still need to figure out a way to get back to your own time now that itâs been made clear you sent yourself to the past. You attempt to walk only to wince again at the ache in your leg, something Bucky notices immediately.
âYouâre hurt. Let me take you home with me, my Ma can fix you right up and get you something to eat,â he offers only for you to quickly shake your head.
âI couldnât impose. Iâll be fine, really,â you try to assure him, but your obvious discomfort isnât very convincing.
âNonsense. What kind of a man would I be if I left you here in this dingy alleyway to fend for yourself? My mother raised me better than that.â
You canât help the soft smile that forms on your lips at his kindness. Steve had often mentioned how charming Bucky was in his younger days, how he had swept countless girls off their feet with his chivalrous nature and good looks. Bucky would always grumble about his friendâs need to exaggerate on the details of the past, but you were now seeing firsthand the truth to the Captainâs stories.
You know you shouldnât, but you canât stop yourself from finally relenting to Buckyâs request. How can you deny him when he flashes you such an endearing grin and looks upon you with eyes full of tenderness? You expect him to take your hand or give you his arm to steady yourself for the walk home, but he instead surprises you by literally sweeping you off of your feet and carrying you in his arms. You gasp, fingers anxiously clutching at the fabric of his dress shirt while you look to him with wide eyes; his strength is unwavering, and his lips sport a proud grin as he whisks you away to his apartment.
âDonât worry, honey. Iâve got you.â
Your inner turmoil is almost unbearable as you struggle to comprehend the sweetness of this Bucky in comparison to the brooding nature of your own Bucky. Youâre not used to such acts of chivalry or flirtatious remarks, and it certainly doesnât help alleviate the crush you harbor on your teammate. If anything, youâre even more confused now than youâve ever been when it comes to your feelings for the Winter Soldier. Youâre adamant about not falling into the fantasy, about staying focused on the task at hand, but itâs hard to do so when Bucky is so obviously sweet on you.
âIâve just realized I donât know your name,â he notes thoughtfully. âMost guys usually know the name of the girl they plan to bring home to their mother.â
âY/n,â you reply gently despite the heat that spreads across your face at his jest, not even sure if giving your real name is the right move.
âY/n,â he repeats sweetly, devoid of the usual tone of annoyance or irritation youâre used to. âI think that suits a pretty girl like you. My name is James, but most people just call me Bucky.â
âI like James,â you admit truthfully while avoiding his burning gaze. âI think it suits a gentleman like you.â
âA gentleman, huh? Mom will proud to hear that.â
You find yourself subtly sneaking a glance at his face while he speaks, unable to resist drinking in the details of a younger, innocent Bucky who has yet to endure the horrors his future has in store for him. He exuded confidence and light, and you could see why girls would throw themselves at his feet just to see his smile. This Bucky was full of hope, and your chest ached at having to keep what you knew about him hidden. You couldnât risk stirring up trouble in the past by telling him what would take place after being shipped off to England and meddling with a future that had already been set in stone, and you knew he might not even believe you anyway. You had no choice but to keep your mouth shut and maintain your composure until you managed to get back to the present.
You eventually make it to his apartment and find your stomach twisting with nerves as Bucky carefully sets you down so he can unlock the door. Youâre not sure how youâre going to handle meeting his mother or setting foot into his childhood home, and the entire situation feels much too intimate for you to bear. Youâre an intruder in his life, the one he kept close to his chest away from everyone but Steve, and you wonder how much heâll hate you for this when you finally get back.
âLetâs get you inside,â James urges, gently guiding you through the doorway while being mindful of your bad leg. He lets you hold onto his arm while escorting you towards the couch. The living room is quaintly decorated with photos and antique furniture, and the floral patterned wallpaper reminds you of the one your grandmother had kept in her home. The smell of a freshly cooked meal wafts through the apartment, and from the distance you can hear the quiet crackle of the kitchen radio playing a tune.
âWait right here,â he says with a wink before disappearing down the hallway and leaving you to your own devices. You debate making your escape while heâs gone in order to avoid delving deeper into Buckyâs past life, but you know you wonât get far with a twisted ankle. Instead, you choose to quickly comb your fingers through your hair and dust yourself off to make yourself somewhat presentable in the presence of his mother.
âIâm telling you, Ma,â Buckyâs voice echoes through the hallway as he makes his return to the living room, âsheâs the most beautiful woman Iâve ever laid eyes on.â
You shift uncomfortably in your seat at his flattery and try to appear as inconspicuous as possible despite your nerves. You canât help but wonder how youâre supposed to go back to normal after all of this is over, and a part of you is starting to dread returning home.
Bucky walks into the room with an older woman on his arm. She has beautifully curled hair thatâs been pinned back neatly to frame her weathered face. Despite the wrinkles under her eyes, they are bright with joy when she gazes upon her son, and her ruby red smile flashes pearly whites your way when she finally rests her attention on your awkward form.
âMom, this is y/n,â Bucky introduces proudly, âI promised her you could fix her right up.â
âOh, you poor dear,â his mother croons as she seats herself beside you. âJames told me all about your nasty fall, but I donât want you to worry. Youâre in good hands here with me.â
âThank you so much for your hospitality, Miss,â you express earnestly as you look into her striking blue eyes she shares with her son. âI promise I wonât be in your way long.â
âNonsense,â she dismisses you with a wave of her hand. âAny friend of my James is welcome in this home. And please, call me Winnifred.â
âThank you, Winnifred,â you repeat with a grateful smile, the womanâs kindness having alleviated some of your stress. You watch as she begins to scan over your features for any other possible injuries while taking in your disheveled form; her brows furrow slightly when she takes note of your attire.
âWhat peculiar clothing,â she murmurs while running her fingers along the rip in your tactical suit. You blanch slightly at the realization that you arenât exactly dressed for the time period youâre in and scramble to come up with a lie.
âItâs my factory uniform,â you quickly fib, grateful for the fact youâd paid attention in your high school history class. âI make munitions for our boys overseas.â
âI love a woman in uniform,â Bucky notes with an innocent smile despite the flirtatious tone of his words.
âHow admirable of you! But surely it must not be very comfortable. Why donât you get cleaned up and changed out of that uniform before I wrap your ankle? Iâll find you something else to wear.â
âIâll show you to the bathroom,â Bucky offers before assisting you back onto your feet. You wrap an arm around his midsection to keep yourself propped upright while lamely limping down the hallway with his help. âMom really seemed to like you, not that Iâm surprised.â
âI can see where you get your charm,â you tease gently, almost melting at the boyish grin that forms on his lips in response. Would it be wrong of you to wish you could have such an easy rapport with your own Bucky as you do with this one?
You make it to bathroom where James shows you how to work the shower before giving you your privacy. The water pressure isnât as strong as what youâre used to back at the compound, but it does the job. Youâre grateful to finally scrub off the grime and dried blood that had accumulated from the mission, and you feel like youâre in a much clearer headspace now to start planning your next move.
A simple dress is laid out on the dresser for you when you finish your shower, and once youâre decent Winnifred sits you down and wraps your ankle. She insists you keep off your foot and rest for the remainder of the evening in her daughterâs bed seeing as sheâs off at a sleepover. You know better than to object to the womanâs demands, and so you find yourself seated on the cushiony mattress with a dinner tray on your lap. Youâre absolutely starving, and youâre grateful to finally have the chance to eat considering you need your strength in order to attempt teleporting without the help of your inhibitor.
A gentle knock on the doorway interrupts your ruminative dinner, and you watch curiously as Bucky slowly peeks his head into the door.
âMind if I keep you company?â
âOf course not,â you hum gently, heart thrumming in your chest when he seats himself on the edge of the bed beside you. The scent of his cologne mixed with his natural musk drowns your senses, causing a longing ache to settle in the pit of your stomach as youâre reminded of the fact that you must leave him behind when this is all over.
âHowâs the ankle?â
âYour mom says the swelling should go down in a day or two as long as I keep off of it.â
âDoes that mean youâll be sticking around here a bit longer?â Bucky asks with a hopeful glimmer in his eyes. You smile faintly, but it isnât very convincing.
âI canât,â you relent gently, guilt consuming your entire being at the way his features falter in result. âI have to get back home.â
âYou have someone waiting for you?â He prompts softly, absently fidgeting with a loose thread from the comforter.
âI do,â you confess quietly. You watch his gaze drop down to hide his disappointment, head shaking slightly as he lets out a soft chuckle.
âI should have known a girl like you would already be spoken for. Is he handsome?â
âVery,â you nod sheepishly, your face growing hot at having to confess such thoughts to the younger version of the man you picture in your head. âHis eyes are blue like yours, but his hairâs a bit longer. He doesnât smile much, but when he does it lights up an entire room.â
âDoes he treat you the way you deserve?â
âHe can be cold and closed off at times, but I know deep down he cares. He just isnât very good at showing it, and I certainly donât make it easy for him. I can be a handful, and we fight a lot, but I think I love him anyway.â
Sighing, Bucky runs his fingers through his perfectly combed hair before meeting your gaze. You watch as he reaches out to gently take hold of your hand in his left one. You canât remove your eyes from the flesh no matter how hard you try, and you donât think youâll ever get over the feeling of being able to touch the arm that has yet to be tainted by Hydraâs touch. You almost want to tell him, but youâre able to bite your tongue.
âThere isnât anything I can do to change your mind?â He asks while giving your hand a gentle squeeze. His eyes are full of hope and admiration for the woman that had spontaneously fallen into his life, and though heâd only known you for a short period of time he knew that something about you was special. You were unlike any woman heâd ever met, and he wanted to spend the rest of his life getting to know you.
âI donât think so, James,â you comfort softly. You feel so bold as to rest a hand gently upon his cheek, and youâre rewarded by the feeling of him leaning into your touch as he melts into your palm. âYouâre a wonderful man, and I have a feeling this wonât be the last time our paths cross.â
Smiling faintly, Bucky cheekily turns his head to press a chaste kiss to your palm. Your breath catches in your throat at the act while your stomach flutters with nervous butterflies, but you donât make a move to pull your hand away.
âIâll hold you to that, sweetheart. Iâd be a fool to let a girl like you out of my life,â he says with a wink before reluctantly beginning to pull away from you. Before you can stop yourself or think it through, you frantically shoot your hand out to keep him in place.
âWait!â You exclaim desperately, catching both Bucky and yourself off guard. You know better than to bring the future to the past, and you know in the end that altering the course of his life wonât change the events of your present time, but you owe it to the man who had shown you such kindness to warn him about his fate.
âWhat is it, y/n?â
âIâŚ,â you begin to say, faltering as you struggle to get the words out. He looks to you patiently for you to finish your sentence, and despite the guilt that consumes you for changing your mind, you continue, âI want you to promise me youâll be careful in the future. I couldnât stand anything happening to you, and I just want you to be safe.â
âOh,â Bucky breathes as if he hadnât been expecting such a serious profession. After processing your words, the man simply gives you an affirming nod and replies, âof course I will, doll. Anything you ask.â
The turmoil within you at keeping the truth to yourself persists, but youâre unable to say nothing more as Bucky rises from his seat on the bed and takes your empty tray from your lap. âIâll get this out of your way.â
He leans down to press a tender kiss to your forehead before excusing himself from the room, shutting the door behind him to give you your privacy. You let out a shaky breath you hadnât realized youâd been holding and blink back the tears that threaten to spill. You cherish the time youâve spent with him here in his own time, but you also miss the Bucky you have back at home. Youâve never hated him, you just never understood him or the walls he insisted putting between you, but you can see now just how much Hydra had taken from him. He hadnât always been the grumpy soldier you knew him as, and your stubborn nature certainly didnât help him come out of his shell.
You needed to make things right, not only with the Bucky from your timeline but also with the one who had just spent his entire day looking after a complete stranger.
Despite the painful throbbing of your ankle, you will yourself out of bed and desperately rush towards the door. You know that exposing his true fate will not alter the course of your timeline, but perhaps thereâs a possibility it can give him the chance to create a new timeline where he never gets the chance to become the Winter Soldier.
âBucky!â You call out in hopes heâll come rushing back down the hall. Youâre so desperate to reach him that you donât notice the soft glow of your inhibitor bracelet, and your frantic state of mind creates a lack of control over your teleportation ability.
You reach the doorknob just as your powers activate, and when you step through the doorway you are no longer in the apartment of James Barnes but instead in your own bedroom back at the compound.
You stagger forward in a daze, mind reeling from the use of your powers as you struggle to adjust to your new surroundings. Your heart drops to your chest when you finally come to the realization that youâre back where you belong, and you slowly sink down to your knees in tears over the fact that youâd been too late. Bucky would return to an empty bedroom, and he would go on to live the life that fate had chosen for him.
You couldnât protect him- youâd failed.
You begin to sob as the amalgamation of emotions from your experience overtakes you, and youâre so consumed in your grief that you fail to hear the sound of your door sliding open behind you.
âY/n? Itâs been three days, where the hell have you been?â A startled voice sounds, causing you to jump in surprise. You turn to find Bucky standing in your doorway, his irritated features morphing into confusion at the sight of your distraught state. Tears steadily stream down your cheeks in time with the trembling of your shoulders, and he slowly makes his approach towards your figure on the floor. âY/n?â
Bucky cautiously sinks to his knees beside you and places a careful hand on your back. The coolness of his metal arm has you shivering, a stark contract to the warmth youâd felt when heâd held your hand in his Brooklyn apartment. âAre you alright? What happened?â
You donât think before throwing yourself into his arms and holding tightly onto his frame. Bucky nearly topples over from the impact but is quick to regain his balance so he can hold you both upright. Initially he isnât sure how to react considering this is the first time youâve ever willingly gotten this close to him let alone hugged him, but heâs eventually able to reciprocate the act by wrapping his arms around your trembling figure and holding you close to his chest.
âIâm sorry,â you sob, fingers tightly clutching at the fabric of his shirt in an attempt to ground yourself. âIâm sorry for always giving you such a hard time, for being so stubborn. You donât deserve that, and I should have tried to be a better teammate.â
âHey, hey, itâs okay,â Bucky shushes gently, his tone unusually gentle as he carefully pulls away to look you in the face. âI know Iâm not exactly the most pleasant person to be around sometimes, and I havenât always been the nicest to you either. Iâm sorry for that.â
âYou mean youâre not going to yell at me for disappearing on you? You donât hate me?â You snivel, prompting his lips to quirk up into a rare smile.
âIâm not going to yell at you for something you canât control. And I never hated you. I just⌠never really knew how to be around you. Steve always speaks so highly of you, youâre everyoneâs favorite, and I never felt like I had the right to know you so intimately the way they do. I figured keeping my distance would be easier, and I thought you preferred it that way considering our track record.â
âI donât want you to keep your distance anymore,â you plead softly. âI want to be around you, I want you to feel comfortable around me.â
âThat can be arranged,â Bucky notes with a faint smile while carefully brushing away the last of your tears, âbut can I ask you what brought this on?â
âItâs a long story,â you admit while guiltily avoiding eye contact with the man. Youâre not sure if you should tell him the truth about your venture just yet, but you donât have it in you to lie to him. You know youâll have to tell him one day, but for now it can wait. âBeing gone these past few days just gave me time to get a new perspective on things.â
âWell, whatever happened, Iâm glad it did,â he says truthfully. âNow letâs get you cleaned up so you can let the rest of the team know you made it back safe.â
You allow him to help you up off the ground just as he had in that alleyway, and when he looks down at you with his soft blue eyes youâre able to see his younger self once more. The charming, chivalrous James Barnes who had taken such good care of you still existed within Bucky, it would just take time for him to come out of his shell and open himself up to you the way his past self had done so.
And you would wait all the time in the world for him.

Zayne Edition | Caleb Edition | Xavier Edition | Sylus Edition | Rafayel Edition
Zayne had promised to meet you at 7 p.m., a rare evening carved out of his relentless schedule. But, as always, the world seemed to conspire against you.
At 6:34 p.m., your phone buzzed.
Zayne: Emergency surgery. Iâll be late. I am sorry.
The message was short and direct, like every other text youâd received when he was busy. Not that you minded, because you knew he would be indulgent when he had the time with his gifs and emoji.
You sighed, staring at the glowing screen. Of course, it wasnât his faultâhis job was important, lives depended on him. You knew that. You always knew that. But knowing didnât make it hurt any less.
You: How late?
You waited, watching the little "typingâŚ" bubble appear and disappear a few times before his reply came in.
Zayne: Iâm not sure.
You: Ill wait for you, Dr. Zayne đ
The knot in your chest tightened. You tossed your phone onto the coffee table and leaned back against the couch, staring at the clock on the wall. 7:00 p.m. came and went. By 8:30, the sun had dipped below the horizon, painting the room in shades of blue and gray. By 10:00, your patience was fraying.
Your thoughts spiraled. You couldnât even remember the last time the two of you spent more than a few uninterrupted hours together. If it wasnât the hospital, it was a conference, or research, or some far-flung medical camp in the middle of nowhere.  You understoodâhe wasnât just a doctor, he was the doctor, the youngest cardiologist in Linkon City, and his work saved lives. But no amount of understanding could temper the weight of the empty hours that stretched between you tonight. It wasnât just tonight. This was a pattern, a cycle youâd grown used to but never quite accepted.
But waiting was a lonely affair. Life had been stressful for you, too. Work, finances, personal strugglesâeverything felt like it was crashing down. And now, the one person you longed to lean on, to feel close to, seemed so far away. Was it selfish to want his presence? To crave a moment of his time? You didnât know anymore. All you knew was that you missed him. Missed you both.
By midnight, the frustration was a storm you couldnât contain. You told yourself youâd wait but every tick of the analog clock that Zayne liked was like chalk grating against the blackboard. :00 a.m. The city outside your window was quiet, the only sound the faint hum of passing cars. 1:45 a.m. The words you wanted to say twisted in your chest, growing heavier. 2:23 a.m. The lock turned.
The sound of the lock turning startled you. Zayne stepped inside, his movements deliberate and quiet as he placed his bag down and shrugged off his coat.
âYouâre awakeâŚâ he said softly, his sharp eyes flicking to you as you sat up on the couch.
âYeah,â you replied, your voice flat. âIâve been waiting. I wanted to see you. How was the surgery?â
âIt went well,â he said simply. âComplicated, but the patient stabilized.â
âThatâs good,â you said, your voice tight. âHave you eaten anything?â
He shook his head. âI grabbed something at the hospital earlier. Iâm fine.â
Fine. He always said that. No matter how long the day, no matter how much heâd pushed himself, it was always, Iâm fine.
âZayneâŚâ you began, your tone already edged with the frustration simmering beneath the surface. âYouâve been on your feet for hours. You need to take care of yourself too, you know.â
âI do,â he replied, his tone even, almost dismissive. âWe can talk about it tomorrow. You should get some rest.â
And there it wasâthe spark that lit the fire.
âRest?â You repeated the word, your voice incredulous. âYou think I can just ârestâ after sitting here for hours waiting for you? Do you even realize what this feels like, Zayne? Itâs like I donât even exist in your life anymore!â
His brows furrowed at your outburst, a hint of confusion on his face.
âI know your job is important,â you continued, your voice shaking. âI know what you do saves lives, and Iâve tried so hard to be understanding. But do you have any idea what itâs like to feel like youâre always second? To feel like youâre not even a priority?â
âWait.â he interjected, his tone calm but firm. âI didnât say you werenât a priorityââ
âNo, you didnât say it,â you interrupted, your anger flaring hotter now. âBut it feels that way, Zayne. Every time you miss a dinner, every time you come home at some ungodly hour, it feels like Iâm just⌠here. Waiting. Always waiting. Do you even realize how long itâs been since weâve had a real conversation? Since weâve actually spent time together?â
His brows furrowed deeper. âYou know my job doesnât exactly allow for flexibility.â
âYour job,â you spat, the words laced with bitterness. âItâs always about your job. And I get it, okay? I do. Youâre saving lives, and thatâs incredible. But when was the last time you asked about mine?â
He opened his mouth to respond, but you didnât give him the chance. The words poured out, sharp and unrelenting.
âDo you have any idea how lonely itâs been? Iâm not even sure Iâm a part of your life anymore!â
The moment the words left your mouth, you saw the shock flicker across his face. His usually stoic expression cracked, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Your heart thudded painfully as the weight of what youâd said sank in. âZayne, Iââ Your voice faltered, tears welling up. âI didnât mean that. I swear I didnât mean that.â
He didnât say anything, just stood there, his silence somehow heavier than any words he couldâve spoken.
The room fell silent except for the quiet hitch of your breath. You pressed your palms to your eyes, trying to stem the tears, but they came anyway, hot and unstoppable.
Your chest tightened as the tears spilled over. âIâm sorryâŚâ you choked out, the apology tumbling from your lips. âIâm so sorry. I didnât mean it. I just⌠I donât know. Everythingâs been so overwhelming, and I didnât mean to take it out on you. I know how much your work means to you, I really do. Iâm just⌠Iâm tired, Zayne.â
ZAYNEâS POV
Her words hung in the air, each one slicing deeper than the last. Iâm not even sure Iâm a part of your life anymore.
Was that really how she felt? Had he really been so consumed by his work that heâd made her feel this way?
He swallowed hard, guilt tightening in his chest. Of course, she was right. Heâd assumed her silence meant she understood, that she was okay with the late nights and missed dates. But now, looking at her, he realized just how deeply heâd been wrong.
And then came her tears.
Heâd seen people cry beforeâpatients, families, even his colleagues. But her tears were different. They werenât just borne of hurt; they carried guilt, love, and something raw and unfiltered. She wasnât angry at him. She was hurting for him, even as she blamed herself. âIâm not making excuses. I just... Iâve been trying to be strong for so long, trying to understand, but tonight... I just felt... alone. I didnât mean it. I swear. You donât deserve to hear that from me. I love you so much, and I feel terrible for even saying something so awful.â
The anger in her voice born from exhaustion, frustration, a sense of abandonment, had shocked him, yes. But now, as her words turned to apologies, all he could see was how deeply she cared for him. Through the raw tears, through the pain and self-accusation in her voice, all he could see was how much she loved him. It was clear as day, even when she couldnât bring herself to look at him, even as she buried her face in her hands.
Her words tumbled out in a rush, desperate, as though she needed to undo everything with an apology. She wasnât angry anymore, no. She was so sorry, and it hurt him more than anything else could. He felt his heart crack, the guilt swirling like a blizzard, and without thinking, he moved toward her, instinct pulling him into action.
âDonât cry...â he murmured, stepping closer. His voice was softer now, tinged with something almost fragile.
âIâm sorry,â she choked out, her words tumbling over each other. âI didnât mean it, Zayne. I swear, I didnât mean it. I justâtonight was hard, and Iââ
âStop.â His hands came up to gently frame her face, his thumbs brushing away the tears that refused to stop. âYou donât have to apologize.â The way her shoulders shook with each sob, the desperation in her voiceâit all spoke of someone who loved so fiercely that even the slightest hint of causing harm to the one she loved shattered her entirely.
âBut I do,â she insisted, her voice cracking. âI was upset, but that doesnât make it okay for me to say something like that to you. You didnât deserve it. Iâm so sorry, Zayne. I didnât mean it. I swear, I didnât mean it. Iâm just⌠so tired, and everything feels so heavy. I know how much your work means to you. I know itâs important, but⌠but I said those things, and thatâs not okay.â
Her voice cracked on the last word, and it cut through him like a scalpel. The rawness of her pain, the way her hands shook as she tried to wipe away her tearsâit gutted him. He stepped closer and gently took her hands, stilling their movement. âStop,â he murmured, his voice low and steady. âPlease, stop apologizing.â
But she didnât. She kept going, as if she needed him to hear every ounce of her sorrow, every misplaced thought born from exhaustion and frustration. âJust because Iâm in a bad place doesnât mean I can take it out on you. It doesnât make it okay to hurt you. Iâm so, so sorryââ
âEnough,â Zayne said, firmer this time, his hands tightening around hers. He closed the distance between them, his forehead resting against hers. His eyes searched hers, even as his own unshed tears blurred his vision. âI hear you. And I forgive you. You donât need to say another word. You are important to me. Do you hear me? You always have been.â
He pulled her into his arms, and for a moment, the world outside disappeared. The tension in her body melted into his embrace as he cradled her close. He felt her sobs against his chest, the dampness of her tears seeping through his shirt, and his heart ached in a way that no medical textbook could ever describe. It was a mix of regret, love, and an overwhelming need to protect the person in his arms.
When he tilted her face up to his, his thumb brushing tenderly over her cheek to catch the fresh tears, his lips found hers in a kiss that spoke the words he couldnât say. It wasnât rushed or hurried, but deep and deliberateâa melding of emotions. He tasted the salt of her tears, felt the softness of her lips trembling against his. His hand cupped the back of her head, holding her there as if letting go might shatter everything. It wasnât about passion, not this time. It was a deep, desperate need to remind her, remind himself, that she was still here. That no matter how far he had drifted, they were still together.
This is how much she loves me, Zayne thought, as her lips pressed harder against his, the urgency building. This is how much she needs me. Even when sheâs hurting, even when sheâs angry, she still reaches for me, still tries to make things right.
In that moment, everything was stripped bare. There were no walls, no facades. Just him and her. His kiss was a vow, an apology, and a promise all at once. When he finally pulled back, his lips still ghosting over hers, he murmured, âIâve been a fool. I am sorry too. I should have been here, with you. I should have made time for you.â
Her eyes widened slightly, confusion flickering through the tears. âZayneââ
âAll these days, I thought I was going home after work,â he continued, his voice low and weighted with emotion. âBut it wasnât home. It was just a house. This⌠this is home. Youâre my home.â
The words hung in the air between them, raw and unfiltered. He pressed another kiss to her forehead, his hands still framing her face. âIâm taking the weekend off. No conferences, no surgeries, no calls. Just us.â
A small, shaky laugh escaped her. âYou mean it?â
âI do,â he said, his lips curving into the faintest of smiles. âEven if I have to tie myself to this couch to prove it.â
She chuckled softly, and he felt the tension in her body begin to ease.
âI miss you,â he said finally, his voice breaking the stillness. âI miss us. And Iâm sorry I made you feel like you werenât important. You are. Youâre everything.â And that was the truth. All that mattered now was her. She was his home, his heart, his everything. And he would make sure she knew that every single day.
A soft sigh of relief escaped her, and she relaxed into him, the tension in her body finally easing. And Zayne, for the first time in a long while, allowed himself to rest. He closed his eyes, listening to her heartbeat against his chest, and he knew that no matter what else life brought him, this was all he needed. This was home.
And he was never going to let her feel unimportant again.

Maybe some Young! Silco fic? (Or anything that you wanna do) I already loved his older version but his Young self in The last episodes got my heart in a grip đđđ He looks so full of dreams and maybe a little silly. Maybe with a energetic/chaotic significant other!

young!silco also has me in a death grip don't worry. hope you enjoy this!!
warnings: fem!reader, violence, sexual innuendos, secondhand embarrassment for drunk rambling
âItâs doable!â
âDoable and survivable are two very different things.â
Vander knocked his head against the metal backing of his mining gloves repeatedly, aching for the two of you to come to a compromise. The light of the fungi matched the tink tink tink of his patience running thin.
Crunching footsteps had him pausing, one eye opening to find Felicia pushing her helmet up higher on her head as she stared at you and Silco just beyond, still very much squabbling. She leaned on her hip, one hand rising to rest on it as she smiled down at Vanderâs hunched form.
âAre they still arguing about the gap?â she whispered.
He groaned quietly instead of answering. It was all she needed.
âI can make it!â you protested, arms gesturing to the other side of the ravine. âIâve jumped buildings twice the distance.â
âWhen youâre jumping buildings you can see the ground,â Silco argued, pointing to the darkness below. âWe donât know how long a fall that is, you absolute lunatic.â
âYouâve gotta hand it to her,â Felicia chuckled, taking up camp next to Vander. âNo one else would even think of jumping across.â
âSheâs an adrenaline junkie,â Vander muttered. âJumping off shit is all she thinks about.â
âWould youâjust let meâdamn it, Sil!â
The shuffle of boots and clothes had both of their heads turning, watching with equally amused expressions as Silco passed by with you being half carried half dragged away from the ravine. Silco didnât pay them a glance as he went. You kept stretching back the way you came, struggling but not truly putting all your energy into it. Felicia could tell. You loved being his center of attention for as long as possible, even if it kept you away from your wild pastimes.Â
The sound of a horn echoed through the caves, sending the fungi white with the sound. The work day was finished.Â
âBack to the last drop, then?â Felicia hummed, standing and offering a hand to the big man. He accepted it with a soft grin, following her out. The two of them watched Silco far ahead, who was now fully carrying you in your grieved state. You kept muttering you could have made it.
âThink theyâll ever get together?â she hummed, nudging Vander.
âWish they would,â he sighed. âIt was annoying years ago, now its just pitiful.â
She laughed, waving a hand at you when you pulled your head up from Silcoâs shoulder to eye them. âWell, sheâll never do it. Sheâs convinced herself heâs too focused on our cause to ever settle down.â
âSome days I think the same thing,â Vander said, introspective when she glanced up at him, âothers, I catch him looking at her. He doesnât open up, barely does around us, butâŚâ
âDisappears around her, yeah?â She smiled at him and he mirrored her, nodding.
Later that night, the Last Drop was bustling with the newest record added to the box. Youâre dancing over chairs, running across the edge of the pool tables as people chant your name. Someone tossed a mug through the air and you caught it, swallowing the contents down and cheering with the rest before continuing on with dancing.Â
Silco watched from his bar seat. He had cruel timing, turning his eyes back to his notebook when you pulled yourself away from the crowd to glance at him. To you, he was lost in his own world, but really he fell into yours quite easily. You were distracting. He perked up at the sound of your voice without meaning to, knew the outline of your body in his periphery. Abrasive and chaotic. Youâre too much, too loud.
Too perfect for someone as withdrawn and stiff as him.
âOh, heaven help me,â Vander grumbled, both hands on the bar as he stared at the scene. Silco paused to raise an eyebrow at him. âShe just downed three shots in one.â
âHow many does that make it now?â he questioned.
âEight.â
Both of their heads dropped, knowing how the night would be going.
âAll right, I give!â Felcia slammed a hand on the bar as she walked up, panting. âI canât keep up with her. Gods. Where does she get the energy?â
Vander passed her a drink as Silco shrugged, music blaring all around them. Felicia scowled when she noticed his journal.Â
âOh, câmon, Silco. Let loose for a bit!â she shouted over the din of the bar, clapping a hand on his shoulder.Â
âIf I did that, nothing would ever get done around here,â he returned, smirking as she rolled her eyes.Â
The counter shook under them, the second bang of Vanderâs fist sending both of them on high alert. Two meant trouble.Â
Felicia spun around, Silco turned in his seat. There by the record player you were backed against the wall by a man, one arm caging you in while his fingers pinched your chin. The cold look in your eyes had a shiver streaking down Silco's spine. You were a storm like this and heâd been lost to it for years.Â
The man said something that made you scoff, batting his hand away and sliding to get out from under him. As his hand grabbed your upper arm Silco realized he was no longer sitting. Even across the room he could read your lips.
âLast chance. Beat it,â you warned.
The man laughed and tugged you closer, it sent your knee right between his legs. When he bent over, Silco heard the crack as your fist met the manâs jaw. He hit the ground, dead weight.Â
Fuck, he thought, hands curling into fists at his side. You were perfect.
You stumbled back a few steps. It seemed those shots had soaked in. You were cradling your hand as yells broke out, slow to turn as a couple of goons stood from a table nearby.
âGreat,â Felicia puffed, pushing off the bar, âhe had lackeys.â
Vander shouted as they ran at you, Silco was halfway to you when you dodged the first swing, putting you straight into the path of another. Your back hit the record player, a scratch disrupting the music. The entire bar turned, regulars rushing forward without second thought and jumping the goons.Â
Silco went straight to you, mindful of the chair Felicia was brandishing overhead as she flew into the meat of the fight.Â
âLet me see,â he said, sliding a hand under your jaw and tilting your head back. You were hunching, still holding that hand of yours to your chest.Â
âHey, Sil,â you slurred, grinning and wincing. Your lower lip was busted, the right side of your face already beginning to swell from the jaw up. âCan you believe that guy? Down in one hit, hah!â
âStill have all your teeth?â he asked, wiping the blood trailing from the corner of your mouth.Â
âWhat? You want me to open wide for you?â
He ticked a brow, scowling through the heat that flashed through his stomach.Â
âCome on, letâs get ice on that,â he muttered, wrapping an arm around you. You hummed happily, falling into his side. Even as drunk as you were, your feet barely stumbled as he led you to the basement door. He nodded to Vander who already had the same idea, coming around the back of the bar to pass him an ice pack and a clean rag. He thanked him.
âTake care of her,â Vander said, rubbing a hand over your back. You tossed the big man a smile before he returned to his station.
âKeep that on there,â Silco said to you, heart aching as you hissed at the touch of it.Â
âIâve got it,â you muttered, hand brushing his. He made sure you kept it pressed to your cheek before opening the door and helping you in first, careful of the stairs as he closed it behind him. The sounds of fighting and the skipping music was muffled as he led you into the bowels of the Last Drop, setting you down gently on the couch.
He reached for your hand, frowning when you turned away from him.Â
âLet me see,â he said.
âItâs fine,â you grumbled, curling into the couch.
âIâd like to see that for myself,â he pushed, fingers gentle as they smoothed over your wrist. Your furrowed brow relaxed a bit, watery eyes trailing to him. âLet me see,â he asked again, softer.
You sighed, the weight of your arm settling into his palm as he moved to sit next to you. You hand shook in both of his, the skin of your knuckles ripped open and gushing red. When he attempted to move your pointer and middle fingers you whimpered, head falling into his shoulder.
He apologized, pulling one hand away to reach into his jacket. âItâs sprained. Iâll need to wrap it.â
âSweet Sil,â you sighed, your good cheek rubbing against his shoulder as you brought your knees up, âalways prepared for the worst.â
âI wouldnât have to be if you werenât constantly getting into trouble,â he hummed, pulling out a roll of bandages and beginning his work. You curled into him as he cleaned you up, tensing when he secured your bruised digits. As he tied the bandages off around your wrist, he sighed, holding your hand in his, thumb running over your skin.Â
âMâsorry,â you sniffed.
He turned his head, a breath punched from his lungs as he saw tears slipping down your cheeks. The ice pack laid abandoned in your lap.Â
âWhat are you apologizing for?â he murmured, brushing your hair out of your face.Â
âI always make a mess,â you whispered, little gasps slipping. Each one was a bullet to his chest. He couldnât stand seeing you cry. âI always annoy you.â
âNo,â he murmured, arms stretching over you to pull you into his lap, âno, you donât annoy me, pet.â
âYes, I do,â you sobbed. âI get into t-trouble when I-when I just want you to look at me.â
Oh, Gods help him. He knew this was the alcohol talking but the hopeful flame in his heart was burning into a torch. He needed to calm you down and get you to bed.Â
âIâm looking,â he said, lips grazing your forehead as he rubbed your back. âYou donât have to try so hard. Iâm always looking.â
You sniffed and he grabbed the bloody rag, nudging the cleanest corner towards you to blow your nose. He chuckled when you groaned, curling deeper into his chest.
âToo drunk for this,â you mumbled. âStupid shots.â
âStupid shots, indeed,â he said, rolling his eyes. âLet's get you some water and go to bed.â
You whined, hiding your face in his neck. âWanna stay here. Mâwarm.â
He sighed, settling into the couch. Eventually you would nod off. Heâd carry you into bed, then.
âHairâs nice.â
âWhat?â he chuckled, trying to look down at you, but it was impossible with you smushed up against him.
âYour hair,â you said, lips moving against his neck. âI like it when itâs bun. Hair frames your face nice. Sâhandsome.â
Youâre going to hate yourself in the morning, he thought, holding back his laughter. You were never going to live this down and he wasnât nearly nice enough to not tease you about this for the rest of your life.Â
âFace hurts,â you sighed. He rubbed your calf, shushing you.
âSleep, pet,â he murmured against your forehead.Â
âYouâll stay?â you asked.
âIâll stay,â he promised.

ft. choso kamo
summary: how choso is as your boyfriend.
choso kamo who is possessive but quitely so, he doesnât need to raise his voice or make a scene to remind you who you belong to. A simple glance, the way his fingers tighten around your body, or the way his lips ghost against your ear when he speaks is enough.
choso kamo puts you in your place gently but firmly, heâs not the type to argue. If you act out, heâll simply back you into a wall, tilt your chin up, and whisper, âTry that again.â His tone is soft, but the weight of his authority is undeniable.
choso kamo who worships you like a princes, he loves caring for you, whether itâs running his fingers through your hair until you fall asleep or making sure you eat properly. But that doesnât mean he lets you get away with everything. If you pout too much, heâll chuckle before dragging you onto his lap, murmuring, âDonât act spoiled unless youâre ready to deal with the consequences.â
choso kamo who has subtle but intense touches, heâs always touching youâbrushing his knuckles down your arm, pressing his palm to the small of your back, tracing circles on your thigh under the table. Itâs never overt, but it always lingers just long enough to make your heart race.
choso kamo who has a low, raspy voice that makes you weak, his voice is soft and deep, and when he murmurs, âLook at me when Iâm talking to you, princess,â in that lazy, commanding tone, you have no choice but to obey.
choso kamo who is always in control even when heâs gentle, choso doesnât need to raise his voice or act rough to assert dominance. Itâs in the way he holds your chin, the way he whispers, âBe good for me,â with quiet authority. Even his softest touches feel like commands.
choso kamo loves taking care of you, but on his terms, heâll brush your hair out of your face, fix your clothes, and feed you if he thinks you arenât eating enough. But if you get a little too bratty? Heâll tilt his head and say, âYouâre being difficult today. Do you want attention that badly?â
choso kamo where jealousy is subtle but dangerous, he doesnât get angry, doesnât make a scene. But if someone flirts with you, his arm will slide around your waist, his grip firm. Heâll lean in close and whisper, âYou like testing me, donât you?â before pulling you into his lap without another word.
choso kamo punishes with deprivations, If you push him too far, he doesnât scold or yellâhe just withholds what you want most. No kisses, no touches, just a knowing smirk as he watches you squirm. âYouâll learn patience,â he murmurs, eyes dark with amusement.
choso kamo who has casual dominance in public, a hand on the small of your back, his thumb rubbing slow circles. Holding your wrist when he senses you getting restless. Fixing your necklace, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your earâhis touches always feel like a reminder that you belong to him.
choso kamo who pulls you into his lap without a word, whether youâre pouting or just being stubborn, heâll solve the problem easilyâby dragging you onto his lap, wrapping an arm around your waist, and keeping you there until youâre calm. âThatâs better,â he hums, his voice deep and satisfied.
choso kamo who sleeps with a hand on you, whether itâs an arm wrapped around your waist or fingers loosely curled around your wrist, he always has to be touching you while you sleep. If you try to move, his grip tightens just slightly, pulling you back into him.
choso kamo who loves when you get flustered, he enjoys watching you stammer or fidget when he gets too close. Heâll lean in, lips barely brushing your ear, and ask, âWhy are you blushing? I havenât even done anything yet.â
choso kamo is an intensely loyal and devoted partner, someone who would go to any lengths to protect the one he loves. Heâs quiet, observant, and sometimes awkward with emotions, but his love is unwavering and deeply felt.

Mizu, femininity, and fallen sparrows
In my last post about Mizu and Akemi, I feel like I came across as overly critical of Mizu given that Mizu is a woman who - in her own words - has to live as a man in order to go down the path of revenge.
If she is ever discovered to be female by the wrong person, she will not only be unable to complete her quest, but there's a good chance that she'll be arrested or killed.
So it makes complete sense for Mizu to distance herself as much as possible from any behavior that she feels like would make someone question her sex.
I felt so indignant toward Mizu on my first couple watchthroughs for this moment. Why couldn't Mizu bribe the woman and her child's way into the city too? If Mizu is presenting as a man, couldn't she claim to be the woman's escort?
However, this moment makes things pretty clear. Mizu knows all too well the plight of women in her society. She knows it so well that she cannot risk ever finding herself back in their position again. She helps in what little way she can - without drawing attention to herself.
Mizu is not a hero and she is not one to make of herself a martyr - she will not set herself on fire to keep others warm. There's room to argue that Mizu shouldn't prioritize her quest over people's lives, but given the collateral damage Mizu can live with in almost every episode of season 1, Mizu is simply not operating under that kind of morality at this point. ("You don't know what I've done to reach you," Mizu tells Fowler.)
And while I still feel like Mizu has an obvious and established blind spot when it comes to Akemi because of their differences in station, such that Mizu's judgment of Akemi and actions in episode 5 are the result of prejudice rather than the result of Mizu's caution, I also want to establish that Mizu is just as caged as Akemi is, despite her technically having more freedom while living as a man.
Mizu can hide her mixed race identity some of the time, and she can hide her sex almost all of the time, but being able to operate outside of her society's strict rules for women does not mean she cannot see their plight.
It does not mean she doesn't hurt for them.
Back to Mizu and collateral damage, remember that sparrow?
While Mizu is breaking into Boss Hamata's manse, she gets startled by a bird and kills it on reflex. She then cradles it in her hands - much more tenderly than we've seen Mizu treat almost anything up to this point in the season:
She then puts it in its nest, with its unhatched eggs. Almost like she's trying to make the death look natural. Or like an accident.
You see where I'm going with this.
When Mizu kills Kinuyo, Mizu lingers in the moment, holding the body tenderly:
And btw a lot of stuff about this show hit me hard, but this remains the biggest gut punch of them all for me, Mizu holding that poor girl's body close, GOD
When Mizu arranges the "scene of the crime," Kinuyo's body is delicate, birdlike. And Mizu is so shaken afterward that she gets sloppy. She's horrified at this kill to the point that she can't bring herself to take another innocent life - the boy who rats her out.
MIZU'S ONE MOMENT OF SOFTNESS AND MERCY, COMING ON THE HEELS OF HER NEEDING TO KILL A GIRL TO SPARE HER THE WORST FATE THAT THIS RIGID SOCIETY HAS TO OFFER WOMEN, AND TO SPARE A BROTHEL FULL OF INNOCENT WOMEN WHO ARE THE CASTOFFS OF SOCIETY, NEARLY RESULTS IN ALL OF THEIR DEATHS
No wonder Mizu is as stoic and cold as she is.
And no wonder Mizu has no patience for Akemi whatsoever right before the terrible reveal and the fight breaks out:
Speaking of Akemi - guess who else is compared to a bird!
The plumage is more colorful, a bit flashier. But a bird is a bird.
And, uh
Yeah.
I like to think that Mizu killing the sparrow is not only foreshadowing for what she must do to Kinuyo, but is also a representation of the choice she makes on Akemi's behalf. She decides to cage the bird because she believes the bird is "better off." Better off caged than... dead.
But because Mizu doesn't know Akemi or her situation, she of course doesn't realize that the bird is fated to die if it is caged and sent back home.
Mizu is clearly not happy, or pleased, or satisfied by allowing Akemi to be dragged back to her father:

But softness and mercy haven't gotten Mizu anywhere good, recently.
There is so much tragedy layered into Mizu's character, and it includes the things she has to witness and the choices she makes - or believes she has to make - involving women, when she herself can skirt around a lot of what her society throws at women. Although, I do believe that it comes at the cost of a part of Mizu's soul.
After all, I'm gonna be haunted for the rest of this show by Mizu's very first prayer in episode 1:
"LET" her die. Because as Ringo points out, she doesn't "know how" to die.
Kind of like another bird in this show:
#blue eye samurai#mizu#akemi#kinuyo#bes#women are birds okay they are BIRDS#the let me die line is so SCARY AND SAD like a part of Mizu wants death but she cant? she doesnt know how?? excuse you show???#when all these other delicate birds are dying all around her#akemis character gets more and more gutwrenching upon subsequent rewatches because whenever she says her life is in danger#NO ONE BELIEVES HER - certainly not other women#because shes rich and pampered and that means shes safe and is worrying about nothing right? right?????#and it turns out that all of akemis instincts were right and she was in danger the ENTIRE TIME#also I need to make a post just for kinuyo because I am sad

rebirth | s.jy

synopsis | after years of fighting and growing apart, your relationship with jake is hanging by a thread. youâve tried to fix things, but itâs always been one step forward, two steps back. what youâd didnât expect was that having a baby could be the thing that gives you a real chance at starting over.
pairing | boyfriend! jake x fem! reader
content warning | smut (mdni) + reconciliation + angst + fluff if you squint + unprotected sex + swearing + pregnancy mention
the car was dead silent. you sat there, seething, arms crossed tightly across your chest, staring out the window as the city blurred by. the same damn argument again. you could feel the heat of anger still crawling through your veins.
jake sat next to you, gripping the wheel like it was the only thing keeping him from losing his shit. his eyes stayed glued to the road, mouth set in a hard line. he hadnât said a word in at least ten minutes, and at this point, you werenât sure if he was waiting for you to cool down or just hoping youâd both drop it.
you hated how this always went down. heâd come home late, every time the same excuses, the same apologies that felt like nothing more than words he was saying because he thought he had to. you didnât know how many times you had to tell him that actions spoke louder than apologies, but he never seemed to hear it.
the worst part was how long it had been since the two of you had spent any real time together. you couldnât even remember the last time you were happy together, without ending up arguing.
you hated this. hated feeling like the last thing he cared about. but you werenât sure if he even realized how deep this ran for you. instead, you were here, heading to his momâs, like everything was fine, like you werenât both completely pissed at each other. the silence was killing you both.
this morning, you both had woken up calm, but as soon as jake told you to get ready to see his mom, everything shifted. you werenât angry about visiting her, you were angry because he was so casual about it, like nothing had happened. like last nightâs argument didnât exist. like you hadnât gone to bed fuming and he hadnât fallen asleep with his back turned to you.
you werenât against seeing his mom, but the way he said it so nonchalantly, as if everything was fine, made your blood boil. it wasnât fine. nothing was fine.
jake slowed the car, pulling into the driveway. you could see his momâs car parked out front, the same way it always was when she was home and could hear the muffled sound of dogs barking from the neighborhood.
the car stopped, but neither of you moved. you both just sat there.
jake finally exhaled, dropping his head back against the seat. âare you still mad?â
you ignored him, twisting in your seat to check the back. your brows furrowed, eyes scanning the floor before you turned back to him. âwhereâs the bag?â
jake blinked at you, clearly not following. âwhat bag?â
you shut your eyes for a second, already feeling your blood pressure spike. âthe pink plastic bag for your mom, sim jaeyun. i told you to grab it before we left.â
jake frowned, shaking his head. âno, you didnât.â
your fingers dug into your arms. âyes, i fucking did. it was on the counter. i literally told you right before we walked out the door.â
jake leaned back in his seat, rubbing his forehead. âwell, i donât remember that. if you told me, i wouldâve grabbed it.â
you let out a short laugh, but it wasnât amused at all. âare you serious? you never listen! like ever!â
jake let out a slow, pissed-off breath. âjesus christ, itâs a fucking plastic bag.â
you turned to him so fast he actually blinked. âitâs not about the bag, dumbass! itâs about the fact that you donât fucking listen to me. ever. i ask you to do one simple thing, and somehow, itâs too much.â
jake scoffed, shaking his head. âoh my god. here we fucking go.â he unbuckled his seatbelt like he was about to get out, but your patience was officially gone and you threw open the car door before so hard it bounced a little.
âforget it.â
jake let out a heavy sigh, trying to keep himself from saying something worse. you didnât wait for a response, you slammed the door shut and started walking toward the house. the cold air hit you, but it wasnât enough to cool the anger simmering under your skin.
behind you, you heard his door open and shut, his footsteps following, but you didnât slow down.
âare we seriously doing this right now?â jakeâs voice was low, frustrated, but not loud enough for anyone inside to hear.
you didnât answer. you just kept walking.
âjesus christ.â he muttered under his breath, picking up his pace until he was right beside you. âyouâre really gonna act like this over a fucking bag? itâs like i forgot your birthday or something. it was a plastic bag.â
that made you stop. you turned on him so fast he actually took a step back.
âstop saying itâs about the fucking bag, jake,â you snapped, your voice sharp but still quiet enough to not cause a scene. âitâs about the fact that you donât listen. you never listen. and then you act like iâm crazy for being mad about it.â
jake ran a hand through his hair, exhaling, trying to stay patient. âi donât freaking do it on purposeââ
âbut you do it.â you cut in. âover and over.â
for a second, he didnât say anything. just stood there, looking at you, jaw tight. then, he shook his head and scoffed, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. âwhatever. i donât have the energy for this right now.â
you let out a humorless laugh. âyeah? neither do i.â
you turned and walked up the steps, ringing the doorbell before he could say anything else. jake stayed behind you, silent now, probably trying to pull himself together before facing his mom.
the door swung open, and like muscle memory, you forced a smile. it wasnât real, not even close, but at this point, you were on autopilot. just going through the motions, pretending everything was fine when it really fucking wasnât.
jakeâs mom beamed, her usual warm energy filling the doorway. âwell, look who finally showed up!â she said, hands on her hips. âi was starting to think you two forgot about me.â
you forced a smile, stepping inside. âof course not.â you said as you hugged her briefly.
jake leaned down, wrapping an arm around his momâs shoulders. âhey, mama,â he said, his voice noticeably softer than it had been with you all day.
his mom squeezed him, pulling back with a smile. âitâs so good to see you, jake. youâre looking well.â
he exhaled. âtraffic was bad.â
she waved a hand like she didnât care. âas long as youâre here now. come on in, i made plenty of food.â
jakeâs mom, bless her heart, had already prepared for this visit. the whole house smelled like her cooking, and there was a soft hum of background music coming from somewhere in the kitchen.
jakeâs mom, bless her heart, had already prepared for this visit. the whole house smelled like her cooking, and there was a soft hum of background music coming from somewhere in the kitchen.
jakeâs mom set down a plate in front of you before taking a seat across the table. âso, how have you been handling everything at home?â she asked, giving you a knowing look.
you glanced at jake for a split second before forcing a small smile. âitâs been fine. same old, you know.â
she hummed, cutting into her food. âjake tells me heâs been working late a lot.â
you let out a small, dry laugh. âyeah, you could say that.â
jake glanced at you, but you ignored him, taking a sip of your drink instead.
his mom sighed, shaking her head. âthat boy works too much. i keep telling him he needs to slow down before he burns himself out.â
you set your glass down. âiâve tried telling him the same thing, but he doesnât listen to me either.â
his mom nodded, giving jake a pointed look. âi just donât want you to overdo it, honey. youâre working all the time, and youâre not getting any younger.â
jake exhaled through his nose, already over this conversation. âiâm fine, mom.â
but she wasnât done. âyou know, speaking ofâŚâ she said, tilting her head slightly, âwhen are you two going to give me a grandbaby?â
jake choked on his drink, coughing into his sleeve. you froze for half a second before blinking.
his mom just grinned. âi mean, iâd love to spoil a little one before iâm too old to chase after them.â
jake dragged a hand down his face. âmomââ
âwhat?â she said, all innocent. âitâs a fair question.â
jake barely reacted at first, just sat there with his hands on his lap, slouched in his seat. but then, as his mom kept talking, he glanced at you. it wasnât much, just a quick look, like he was expecting you to roll your eyes or shake your head, the same way you did whenever his mom brought up something ridiculous.
but you didnât.
you just sat there, eyes fixed on your plate, quiet. and something about the way you looked, not pissed, not annoyed. in your eyes there was something different in them, something softer. a little flicker, a kind of sparkle he couldnât quite place.
had you thought about it before?
that was a stupid question. obviously, you had. but had you thought about it with him?
he barely heard what his mom was saying anymore, his focus entirely on you. his fingers twitched slightly against his thigh.
you mustâve felt him staring because you finally turned your head, locking eyes with him. for a moment, neither of you spoke.
your brow lifted slightly and jake blinked looking away fast. he cleared his throat, shifting in his seat. âmom, can we just eat?â
his mom laughed, shaking her head. âalright, alright. iâll let it go.â
but jake wasnât sure if he could.
dinner went on, conversation moving to his momâs garden, some neighborâs drama, a show she was hooked on. you played along, nodding and laughing where you had to, and so did jake, but his mind was stuck on something else.
that look in your eyes.
jake didnât know what the fuck to do with that.
by the time dinner wrapped up, you were in the kitchen with jakeâs mom, drying dishes while jake stayed at the table, glued to his phone. he hadnât said much all night, just scrolling through his phone.
his mom handed you another plate and looked over at him. âthat boyâs always on that damn phone,â she muttered as she worked. âworks too much, too. tells me itâs all just part of the job, butâŚâ
you glanced at jake. he wasnât even looking up, still absorbed in whatever was on his phone. âyeah, i know,â you said, kind of offhand.
jakeâs mom let out a small sigh, shaking her head. âhe needs to make more time for other stuff, you know? for you. for⌠whatever else.â
you just shrugged, drying another plate. iâve tried,â you said, quietly.
but jake, even though he looked like he wasnât paying attention, actually was. he was listening to every word. he kept his face blank, not moving, but his attention was all on you two.
his mom paused, watching you for a second before asking, âhow are you, though? really?â
you shrugged, trying to sound fine. âiâm good.â
âi didnât make you uncomfortable with the baby talk, did i?â she added, quieter now, as she dried her hands.
you quickly shook your head. ânah. no, itâs fine.â
but there it was, the tiny shift in your eyes, just for a second. you werenât exactly telling her everything, but she saw it. she noticed. she wasnât going to push, but she was curious.
âhave you thought about it?â she asked after a pause.
you hesitated, your fingers tightening slightly around the dish plate. âmaybeâŚâ you admitted quietly. âjust⌠not sure if now is the right time.â with things so messed up with jake, of course it wasnât.
the thought had crossed your mind. how could it not? every time you saw kids playing outside, every time you passed by a baby section in a store, every time a friend shared pictures of their little ones, you wondered. what would it be like? would it change things? would it fix things? but the reality hit you just as fast as the thought came.
letâs be real, jake hadnât touched you in what felt like forever. it wasnât just the lack of intimacy; it was everything that came with it. the distance, the exhaustion in his voice when he got home late, the way he barely looked at you some days. there was a time when he couldnât keep his hands off you, when just passing each other in the kitchen would turn into something more.
now? now, it was like you were just existing in the same space, nothing more.
âi donât think i would even be a good mother.â you forced a small smile, trying to brush it off.
jake heard it, loud and clear. his fingers stopped mid-scroll, and his shoulders tensed slightly.
his mom set down the dish towel, frowning. âwhy would you say that?â
you let out a small laugh, but there was no real humor in it. âi donât know. i justâŚâ you shrugged.
âoh, sweetheart, youâd be a great mother.â her hand approached your shoulder and left a small squeeze.
you swallowed, gripping the dish plate a little tighter. you smiled a little, but it wasnât real. she didnât see the whole picture. how lonely it felt sometimes. how every conversation about spending more time with jake turned into an argument and never went anywhere.
they just ran in circles until you both got too tired to keep going.
jake didnât say it enough. heck, he barely said it at all anymore, but he thought about you all the time. how you held things together. the way you handled everything working, running the house, dealing with him, even when you probably shouldnât have to.
and hearing you say that you didnât think youâd be a good mom? it hit him hard. he wasnât sure if you knew, but to him, you were everything. if anyone could do it, could be a great mom, it was you. you could handle it. you could handle anything.
but had he ever told you that? had he ever shown you? all the stuff you did, all the sacrifices, and how much he appreciated it?
no, he hadnât. he realized that now. he hadnât been there like he shouldâve been. the late nights, the ignoring, all the times you tried to reach out and he pulled away. how could you believe him if heâd never shown it? how could you believe anything he said if he didnât back it up with actions?
the drive home was dead quiet, like always. you werenât even looking at him, just staring out the window, arms crossed, fingers tapping against your sleeve, like you couldnât wait to be anywhere but here.
jake kept his eyes on the road, hands gripping the wheel a little too tightly. he wanted to say something, maybe break the silence, but he didnât even know where to start.
when he pulled into the driveway, you didnât wait. you unbuckled your seatbelt, got out, and shut the door a little harder than necessary. jake stayed in the car for a second, watching you walk up to the house, before sighing and following.
inside, the only light on was the dim glow from the kitchen. the house felt cold, lifeless, probably because it had been for a while now. you kicked off your shoes, didnât even glance at him, and headed straight for the bedroom. jake exhaled, rubbing a hand down his face before locking the door behind him.
he wasnât sure what hurt more, the fights or the distance. but either way, it felt like losing.
jake followed you into the room, standing in the doorway as you began to take off your coat, dropping it onto the chair. his gaze followed you for a moment, the silence between you both heavy, almost suffocating. he didnât want to press, but the words slipped out before he could stop them.
âwhy didnât you tell me?â his voice was low, almost like he was asking himself as much as he was asking you.
you paused, glancing over your shoulder at him, brows furrowing slightly. âabout what?â you asked, genuinely confused.
jake pushed off the doorframe, stepping into the room a little more, his gaze not leaving you. âabout the kids?â
you sighed, shaking your head as you pulled off your earrings, setting them down on the dresser. âit was just a dumb thoughtâ you muttered, not even looking at him.
jake watched you for a second, his jaw tightening. âdidnât sound dumb to me.â
you let out a small, humorless laugh, finally turning to face him. âyeah? well, it is.â your arms crossed over your chest. ânot like it matters anyway.â
his brows furrowed slightly. âwhy wouldnât it matter?â
you exhaled, shaking your head. âjake, come on. look at us.â you gestured vaguely between the two of you. âwe can barely have a conversation without it turning into an argument. you barely even look at me.â your voice was calm, but there was something tired underneath it.
jake stared at you, his fingers twitching at his sides. he wanted to say something, argue, deny it, tell you it wasnât dumb. he wanted to tell you that he saw you all the time. that even when he came home exhausted, even when he was distracted, even when things were tense between you, he still saw you. he noticed the way you hummed under your breath when you cooked, the way you pulled your sleeves over your hands when you were tired, the way you always waited up for him even when you pretended you werenât.
but what did any of that matter if he never said it? if he never showed it?
then, you sighed, rubbing at your temple. âjake, i donât wanna do this right now.â
you changed into your pajamas and climbed into bed, facing the wall. you could hear the faint sounds of jake moving around in the other room, pacing once or twice before finally settling down somewhere.
minutes passed.
then an hour.
and still, you couldnât sleep.
âhow would you name them?â
you blinked, staring at the ceiling. for a second, you thought you imagined it. jakeâs voice was quiet, coming from your side. you hadnât even heard him lay next to you.
you turned slightly, just enough to glance at him. his head was already turned looking at you, his expression unreadable.
âwhat?â you asked, your voice softer than before.
he exhaled through his nose, shifting his stance. âif we had kids.â he paused before speaking again. âhow would you name them?â
your fingers curled slightly into the blanket. you werenât sure if he was asking just to ask or if this actually meant something to him.
you swallowed, then looked away. âi donât know.â jake didnât push, but he didnât drop the conversation either. neither did you. ââŚmaybe something classic. nothing too complicated.â
jake nodded slightly, like he was thinking about it. âlike what?â
you hesitated, then shrugged. âi always liked names likeââ you stopped, suddenly self-conscious.
jake tilted his head slightly. âlike what?â
âi donât know. maybe something that lookalike our names orââ you hesitated again, then shook your head. âitâs stupid.â
jake shook his head once. âhey itâs not stupid.â he was watching you, with something different in his eyes now. something quieter, something softer.
you glanced at him, then quickly looked away. âyeah.â
a beat of silence.
âwhat about a girl?â
you exhaled, staring up at the ceiling. âwhy are you asking me this?â
âi donât know,â he admitted. âi just⌠want to know.â
the room felt heavier now, but not in the way it usually did after a fight. this wasnât resentment or frustration hanging in the air, it was something else. something uncertain.
you shifted on the bed, pulling your knees up slightly, resting your arms over them. âit doesnât matter. itâs not like weââ you stopped yourself, shaking your head. ânever mind.â
jake didnât let it go. ânot like we what?â
you sighed, looking down at your hands. ânot like weâre in the place to even think about that.â
âwhy not?â
you could feel the weight of his stare, the way he was waiting, pressing for an answer. you swallowed hard. âjake,â you started, your voice almost flat, like you were forcing yourself to say it. âwe donât even kiss anymore.â
âcan i kiss you right now then?â
your stomach dropped. you werenât expecting that, not so direct, not so steady. his voice was low, but there was no hesitation in it. he wasnât teasing, wasnât playing around. he was serious.
you blinked at him, feeling suddenly too aware of how close he was. you could see the way his fingers curled slightly against his knee, the way his breathing was just a little heavier than before.
âiâm just going to bed, jake,â you said quickly, your voice tight. you turned away, trying to put space between you, but before you could lie down, his hand wrapped around your wrist.
âcome here,â he muttered, pulling you back toward him.
you let out a quiet, startled breath as you shifted, and suddenly, he was closer, closer than he had been in a long time. his grip wasnât rough, but it was firm, keeping you right in front of him. his face was inches from yours now, his eyes locked onto yours, watching your every move.
your breath hitched. his hand was still around your wrist, his fingers warm against your skin. you could feel how steady he was, how he wasnât rushing, just holding you there, watching you.
âjakeâŚâ you started, but your voice was barely above a whisper. you didnât even know what you were trying to say.
he didnât say anything. he just let go of your wrist, his hand trailing down slowly, his fingers barely grazing against your palm before resting on your thigh. his touch was warm, grounding, but not hesitant. he was waiting.
you swallowed, your throat suddenly dry. his face was so close now, his breath mixing with yours, warm and slow. you could see everything, the way his lips parted slightly, the way his eyes flickered down to your mouth for just a second before coming back up.
a shaky exhale slipped past your lips. you werenât even sure if you meant to do it, but it filled the silence, made it feel more real.
then, so quietly you almost didnât catch it, he asked again, âcan i kiss you?â
you inhaled sharply, but before you could answer, he moved. his hand slid up your thigh, slow enough that it sent a shiver through you, stopping at your waist as he pulled you even closer. you barely had time to react before his lips brushed against yours, just barely, not even a full kiss yet, just a ghost of a touch.
you made a soft sound, something caught between a sigh and a whimper, and that was all it took. jakeâs fingers tightened at your waist, and then he kissed you for real, pressing his mouth against yours, warm and firm and just a little desperate.
you gasped softly against him, your fingers twitching before reaching for him, gripping onto his shirt. his lips moved against yours, slow at first, savoring, but there was tension beneath it, something deeper, something that had been left untouched for too long.
he exhaled sharply through his nose, his other hand coming up to cup the side of your face, his thumb brushing against your cheek.
you could hear the way your breaths mixed together, how your heart was pounding so loudly it almost drowned out the quiet creak of the mattress as he shifted pinning you down.
when he pulled back just slightly, just enough to look at you, his lips were parted, his breathing uneven. his forehead nearly touched yours, and he swallowed,
he looked at you like he was memorizing you, like he was seeing something he wasnât sure he deserved to touch.
âyouâd be a good mom..â he said suddenly.
your breath hitched and you stared at him. you werenât expecting that.
his thumb brushed over your cheek slowly. âi thought about it,â he admitted, sliding up to your jaw, tilting your face slightly. his touch was so gentle it almost hurt. âi think about it more than i should.â
your chest ached. he was looking at you like he was seeing it, like he could picture it so clearly, it hurt.
âi donât know if i wouldâve been a good dad,â he admitted, voice barely above a whisper. âbut you? baby, you wouldâve been everything.â
your breath caught. it was the first time heâd called you that in a long time. âjakeâŚâ
âyou take care of people even when they donât deserve it. even when i donât deserve it.â he let out a small, breathless chuckle. âi fucked up so bad, didnât i?â his lips pressed together before he looked at you again.
jake swallowed. his thumb traced a slow, barely-there circle against your skin. you closed your eyes, inhaling shakily.
âcan i hold you?â his voice was quiet, careful. âjust⌠for a second?â
you hesitated. but then you nodded.
and jake didnât waste a second.
he pulled you in, wrapping his arms around you like he was afraid youâd disappear if he didnât hold tight enough. his hand cradled the back of your head, his breath warm against your skin as he exhaled shakily. âiâm sorry, baby,â he murmured against your hair. âiâm so fucking sorry.â
and for the first time in a long time, you let yourself sink into him.
jake pulled back slightly, his gaze intense, searching yours. âyou think having a baby right nowâs gonna make this all go away?â his thumb brushed along your jawline gently. âmaybe it wonât fix everything, but itâd damn well give us something real to work toward, something we could both look at and know weâre doing this for something better.â
âwe canât avoid the fact that we need something, baby. we canât just keep pretending everythingâs fine. thisâŚâ he let out a breath, his hand dropping to your waist, pulling you closer. âthis thing between us, what weâve been doing. itâs broken, and i know it. but you, baby⌠i know we can fix this. i want to fix this. and i want you with me while we do it.â
his words hung in the air, the quiet pressure in his tone making it clear that he wasnât asking. he wasnât waiting for you to decide for him, either. it was like he already had his mind made up, like this was the path he was going to push for, whether you were ready or not.
âi need you to be on the same page as me, sweetheart,â jake said, his voice dropping lower. âi need you to trust me, like i trust you. no more running, no more acting like we donât both feel this.â his hands moved down, pulling you even closer, his chest against yours, his breath warm against your skin.
jakeâs body shifted against yours, and you felt something hard press against your thigh. the suddenness of it made your heart race, and the space between you seemed to close even more. his breathing was heavier now, his eyes locked onto yours, waiting for any reaction.
jakeâs body was shaking, his breath coming out in short, desperate gasps. he was right on the edge, every part of him trembling as he held you close.
âfuck..â he groaned, his voice wavering. his breath was hot against your ear, desperate and whiny. âi need this⌠need you toâshit, baby, donât stop⌠please.â
the bed creaked with every movement, the sounds of your bodies colliding filling the room. jakeâs breath was ragged, quick gasps escaping his lips as his body pressed against yours, sweaty and trembling.
his hands slid over your skin, the sweat making everything feel slick. âgod, you feel so good..â he whimpered, his voice cracking with the effort to stay in control. âiâm close⌠so fucking close.â
he kissed you deeply, his lips trembling against yours, and he groaned at the sight of you, perfect, needy, ready to break.
âyouâre gonna have my baby..â he whispered, as he buried his face in your neck âiâll give you everything. just let go, baby. come for me, and iâll fill you up⌠i need you to⌠please.â
the bed creaked once more, the sound louder as he thrust deeper. jakeâs voice was trembling as he fought to hold himself back. the sound of his voice, so weak, so strained, made you shiver.
âhey, hey⌠look at me.â he murmured, gripping your chin to make you look at him. âmine. you know that, right?â
you nodded weakly, barely able to form words as he kept squeezing his dick deep inside of you. you hair was a mess and you could barely snort the strands that were getting in your face
âwhat do you want?â jake asked, hi grip on you tightened as he thrust deeper, his breath ragged against your ear.
you tried to answer, but the way he pushed deeper stole your words, leaving only a shaky gasp.
âa girl?â he murmured, his lips brushing against your ear. âi bet sheâd look justââ another thrust, harder this time ââlike you.â
you could only moaned in response, fingers tangling in his hair as he moved against you, completely lost in the moment.
âyou want to get married?â he looked down at you. you nodded quickly, the sensation overwhelming as he hit just the right spot. âyeah?â he urged, wanting to hear you say it.
âfuck yesâ you breathed, your response coming out desperate and filled with need, lips parting as another moan slipped free.
his teeth scraped against you jaw before he kissed you hard, swallowing every sound you made. his breath hitched as he pulled you closer, his hands shaking slightly with urgency.
âcome on, baby⌠let me feel you.â jake murmured, his voice trembling with a mix of need and desperation. âi need you..â he rasped, his voice almost breaking. âneed you to come for me. please, baby⌠i need to feel you.â
your breath came in shallow gasps, and your body shuddering with the pleasure he was giving you. âjakeâŚâ you moaned, your nails digging into his skin as you clung to him.
âfuckâbabyââ His voice cracked, his grip on your hips tightening like he was afraid to let go. âI c-canâtâshit, Iâm gonnaââ
he was so deep, his body stiffening against yours as he let out the neediest whine, his forehead pressing against yours. his skin was burning, damp with sweat, muscles twitching from how hard he was holding back.
the bed rocked with every movement, the headboard knocking against the wall as jakeâs body tensed, his breath coming out in short, desperate gasps. his hands were shaking, his fingers digging into your skin.
âyou f-feel soâshitâso tight, baby, iâmââ he choked on his words, his whole body trembling as he buried himself as deep as he could, letting out a broken whimper.
the second he spilled inside you, he groaned, his body collapsing against yours, completely spent. his breath was hot against your neck, his arms still wrapped tightly around you like he never wanted to let go.
jake was still panting, his chest rising and falling against yours, his body completely hot, damp with sweat.
âshitâŚâ he let out a shaky breath, still buried inside you, his body jerking slightly every time he shifted. he was sensitive, too sensitive, but he wouldnât pull away. âyou feel so goodâŚâ he murmured, voice weak, breathless. âso fuckinâ perfect, baby.â
the bed still creaked beneath you, both of your bodies slick with sweat, sticking to the sheets. jake groaned when you shifted even a little, his hands gripping your hips tighter. âd-donât move..â he whined, voice barely holding together. âiâm too..fuckâtoo sensitive.â
his head fell against your shoulder, his lips brushing against your skin as he sucked in a deep breath. âyou okay?â he mumbled, fingers tracing circles on your hip, still twitching from how hard he came.
when you nodded, his grip loosened just a little, but he still wouldnât pull away. âi donât wanna move..â he admitted, voice muffled against your skin. âwanna stay like this⌠keep you full.â
you traced your fingers along his back, feeling the way his muscles twitched under your touch. âyou really meant it?â you whispered. âabout the baby?â
jake lifted his head just enough to look at you, his eyes half-lidded, still dazed. âof course, i meant it.â he murmured. âi want it so bad, baby. wanna see you all round with my kid.â his voice cracked slightly, his hands sliding up your sides, as if he was trying to memorize the way you felt right now. âyouâll be so fucking pretty⌠carrying my baby.â
your breath hitched, your legs instinctively tightening around him. âjakeâŚâ
his lips ghosted over yours, his voice barely above a whisper. âsay you want it too..â he pleaded. âtell me youâll give me a baby.â
you swallowed, heart racing. âi want it..â you admitted softly. âi want everything with you.â
jake let out a shaky breath, his hands trembling where they held you. âfuck..â he whined, pressing his forehead against yours. âi love you so much. i swear, baby, iâll take care of you.â
you smiled slightly, brushing your thumb against his cheek. âyou better.â
he chuckled breathlessly, his lips pressing against yours in a slow, desperate kiss. âi willâŚâ he promised. âforever.â

â sevika being needy when youâre mad at her
synopsis: sevika has very good self control, and she doesnât usually cave in to most situations that bother her, but you giving her the silent treatment? well, thatâs a whole different story.
note: this is just another sevika drabble because I canât get the thought of her being needy out of my head.
sevika is straightforward. she doesnât have the time nor patience when it comes to silent treatment, if she has a problem with someone she goes out of her way to tell them without sugarcoating it. romantic partners included.
there are perks to it but there is definitely a downside as well because oftentimes she can be too blunt for her own good.
you know she doesnât mean it when she accidentally hurts your feelings or says something that catches you off guard, but then again youâre still human. so whenever you two end up disagreeing with each other, you try to be as understanding of her perspective as much as possible. but sometimes it doesnât always work.
âwhere are you going?â she asked you late one night when she catches you dolling yourself up in your bedroom.
you spared her a glance from your cracked vanity mirror before rummaging through your makeup bag âIâm gonna go to the bar just to meet up with some friends. Iâll probably be back in two hours.â
you were expecting her to agree because you barely go out anyways. sevika could be a bit jealous and possessive but if there is one thing she isnât, itâs controlling.
thatâs why you were taken aback when you catch sight of her shaking her head on the mirror, a scowl on her face âno.â
you were quiet for a moment before you swiveled around to face her.
âexcuse me?â
âI said no. itâs late. had you gone out earlier today I wouldnât have minded but itâs dangerous to go out this time of night and Iâm not gonna let you especially when youâre all dressed up like that.â she said.
you honestly couldnât believe it as you stood up âwell, if youâre so worried then you can just come with-â
âitâs a saturday and silcoâs been on my ass the entire week. I was hoping weâd use this night to just unwind and stay in.â
you chuckled, a bitter sound âso wait, I canât go to the last drop because itâs late but you can especially if itâs about work?â
âitâs not about where youâre going, itâs about the time. you can go out tomorrow morning or the afternoon but itâs 9:30 for crying out loud.â
âyouâve got to be kidding me. sev-â
âIâm not arguing with you.â she reprimanded âI mean it. youâre a grown adult and I got into a relationship with a grown adult. so I donât get why youâre acting like a fucking child.â
perhaps it was the stress of her job getting to her that made her speak that way towards you, but youâd be lying if you said her harsh words didnât get to you because they did. making your eyes well up but you refused to let her see you cry, instead you just shoved past her and into the bathroom where you took your makeup off and got undressed.
and she was glad you gave into what she wanted⌠or so she thought.
truth be told, she didnât think much of what she said because in her mind she was just looking out for you. sure, if she thought about it she mightâve sounded a little harsh but it wasnât personal. she just tends to be strict especially to those she cares about.
however, she didnât think youâd take it to heart. thatâs why in the following morning when she was cooking breakfast and heard the bedroom door open, she was surprised that instead of walking up to her and giving her a morning kiss like you always do, you aimed directly for the bathroom and slammed the door shut on your way in.
she couldnât mask her surprise because not only did you ignore her, you didnât sit down and have breakfast with her first. which is something you always do before showering and heading off to work.
âarenât you going to eat?â she asked with a frown when she saw that you were already dressed and were about to head out.
without missing a beat, you replied in a dry tone âIâm not hungry,â before walking out of your apartment, again no kiss on her cheek or a goodbye. leaving her standing in the dining room alone, dumbstruck.
she thought youâd snap out of it soon but it only got worse when two days had passed and you still havenât exchanged at least three sentences with her.
it was just the occasional ânoâ âIâm fineâ and ânothingâs wrongâ even though you hadnât been talking to her through dinners and had your back turned to her when you slept. no cuddling, no kissing, just pure silence.
sevika thought she was about to go crazy.
usually, she wouldnât give in to this kind of pettiness but thereâs only so much of you withholding affection from her that she could take before it started affecting her.
she didnât even know what she did wrong but if she had to take a guess it was probably when she didnât let you go out to meet your friends. but come on, really? she was just looking out for you.
but of course, she had to set her pride aside, and so without you expecting it, she cornered you while you were rummaging the fridge trying to find something to eat - not noticing her broad figure looming close behind.
you jumped when a pair of strong arms suddenly wrapped themselves around you âwhat the-â you begun wiggling out of her hold âsevika, what are you-â
you were silenced when sevika nuzzled her face in the crook of your neck and only tightened her hold on your waist.
âcan you please stop ignoring me? Iâm sorry, okay? whatever it is I did, Iâm sorry.â
it took you a second to process her words but when you did, you just rolled your eyes âyou donât even know what it is that youâre apologizing for.â
âis it because I didnât let you go out to meet your friends the other night? Iâm sorry but I just didnât want you to go out while it was late. you know Iâd never boss you around-â
âsev, itâs not that.â you sighed âitâs about the comment you said afterwards. about me acting like a child?â
she was quiet and you shook your head âit was such a shitty thing to say. I couldâve understood where you were coming from but you know how I hate it when people talk down on me and youâre the last person I expected that from.â
a pang of of guilt shot right through her chest when she realized her mistake, because you were right. perhaps she shouldâve been more careful with how she phrased her words because no matter how much you two disagree on certain things, her intention is never to hurt you.
âIâm so sorry, baby.â she placed a soft kiss on your shoulder âyouâre right. itâs my fault. I was a dick. maybe itâs because I was stressed but that still isnât a good reason to have talked to you like that.â
you were about to make a snarky remark when out of nowhere, sevika dropped to her knees in front of you and pulled you forward by your hips. looking up at you with big puppy dog eyes and it was like all your self restraint flew right out the window because here she was, your big strong intimidating girlfriend whoâs feared by many, acting needy and desperate for your forgiveness.
âIâll do whatever it takes, just please stop with the silent treatment.â she said, lifting your shirt up to kiss your tummy and you let out a shuddering breath âplease baby, Iâm sorry. really I am.â
you bit your lip, taking her jaw in your hand as you examined her face âwho wouldâve thought youâd be the type to beg?â
she looked down sheepishly and you couldnât help but laugh, amused.
âbut fine,â you said, leaning down to kiss her and you made sure to slip your tongue in, making her groan because this was the first time in three days that you gave her any sort of physical affection.
so she didnât stop not until you two found it hard to breathe.
you smirked âsince you asked so nicely after all.â

âDamn it, y/n, stop fucking killing me!â
Yunhoâs voice sounded beyond annoyed, borderline completely pissed off. You could hear it in the way there was a slight growl undertone in his deep, tired voice. It was well past midnight, himself and his two roommates along with some of their friends had been playing this new online co op game for the last⌠4âŚ. 5 hours? Honestly, Yunho had lost track of the time.
âThatâs what you get for getting me killed earlier.â Y/N replied back, her voice filled with amusement and dripping with pettiness. Yunho had half a mind to pause the game, march across the hall to her bedroom and unplug her pc. She had been nonstop killing him for the last hour or so and Yunho was starting to reach his breaking point.
âItâs not fucking funny, y/n! And it wasnât my fault you and Wooyoung are using the same character.â Yunho snapped into his headset. He had even told his two roommates that choosing the same character to play as would be confusing for everyone and a bad idea. Did they listen? Of fucking course they didnât. âY/N, I swear to god!â He growled, avoiding just being shot once again.
âSwear to god,â Yunho could practically hear the smirk she had as y/n teased him, sniping his player with quick precision, a frustrated snarl echoing in her ears from her headset as Yunho was clearly pissed. âwhat would your mother say?â
âCould you two like⌠I donât care, fuck and shut up already?â Jongho was tired of their back and forth bickering. He could practically feel the tension between the two and he was three blocks away in his own apartment.
Yunho and Y/N both shut up, their silence suddenly very loud and noticeable. âWell that shut them the fuck up.â Wooyoung was snickering, San and Jongho both joining him. Both his roommates probably thought Wooyoung was oblivious to their little tryst they had going on but their walls were thin and y/n was very vocal.
âItâs after 2:00 am, I promised Seonghwa Iâd meet him for lunch tomorrow.â Y/N was lying straight through her teeth but the guys were none the wiser as she left the game. Yunho sighed in relief to not have her constantly up his ass, actually being able to try and explore the new game and have fun without getting killed every few minutes.
Yunho was so focused in the game now he didnât see y/n open her bedroom door across the hall, he himself had left his bedroom door open. Y/N glanced down the hall towards Wooyoungâs, his door was shut and she could hear him yelling at Jongho over something in the game. Dropping to her knees, y/n smirked, biting her bottom lip as she crawled quietly across the carpeted floor into Yunhoâs room.
She paused a second, taking in his big frame in sitting slightly hunched over in his gaming chair, completely focused on the game, the clicking of the keyboard and mouse loud. The only thing he had on clothing wise was a pair of baggy gray sweatpants. His headset sat atop his messy dyed dirty blonde hair.
Yunho couldnât hear her movements over Wooyoung and Jongho now the ones arguing in the game through his headset, but he certainly felt her when she brushed against his leg, crawling under his desk. He looked down at her as the game was on the load screen, y/n peeking up at him now between his legs. âWhat are you doing?â He mouthed so the others wouldnât hear over the headset.
Y/N only smirked at him. This was payback for not only getting her killed in the game but how he left her edged and on the brink of orgasm the day before. They had gotten into an argument in the living room, something about someone going into Yunhoâs room and turning off his pc while he had a game paused.
An argument that eventually lead to Yunho having y/n bent over the couch, a hand gripping her hair, head pulled back as he was hitting it from behind, the lewd noises loud, echoing in the apartment along with y/n loud cries and moans mixed with Yunhoâs filthy words.
âYou do that shit on purpose, donât you?â His hand came down hard on her ass causing y/n to jolt forward and giving Yunho the perfect opportunity to grip her waist and yank her back, dick thrusting all the way back inside her aching, edged cunt. âFucking brat.â
His hand was tangled back in her hair, yanking her up, y/n back against his chest just as keys could be heard at the front door. Yunho had pulled out of her and darted to his room, trying not to trip over his own feet. Y/N had snatched her discarded clothes up and darted to her own room just before Wooyoung walked through the door.
Yunho clenched his jaw as y/n glided her hands up his legs, fingers grazing his bellybutton before dipping into the waistband of his pants and pulling them back just enough to be able to pull his hardening dick free.
His dick always betrayed him when it came to her. âThis is what you get for leaving me to finish myself yesterday.â She wrapped her hand around him, working a steady rhythm up and down his length until Yunho had to bite his lip to keep from moaning, his dick now fully hard and aching to be buried inside her, mouth, pussy, he wasnât picky.
âDude, you good?â Jongho asked when a deep moan escaped Yunho, echoing in his friendâs ears through their headsets when y/n tongue started licking at his tip, hand still jerking him, thumb tracing a prominent vein that had Yunho almost whimpering.
âIâŚ. I yeah⌠I just stubbed my toe underâŚ. my desk.â It was a terrible lie and it wouldnât be a good enough excuse to cover up the almost growl that left him when y/n removed her hand to bring his entire length into her mouth, his tip hitting the back of her throat and causing her to gag at the fullness and stretch.
âOk, what the hell?â This time it was San who called him out. Yunho switched his movements from the mouse to the keyboard, using one hand to continue playing while reaching down to tangle his other hand into y/n hair, gripping it and gaining control, making her slow down the sudden messy, gagging, bob of her head on his dick. âWooyoung, you just ran right into that fucking sniper!â Yunho ignored San, heart racing, that familiar tightness in his stomach growing.
How Yunho managed to play with one hand y/n had no idea but then again, he was annoyingly good at everything. She could feel he was close, his dick twitching against her tongue as he continued to move her head, fucking her mouth at a steady pace as he continued playing the game. He was biting his bottom lip so hard to keep from making anymore noise, it would be suspicious if he just muted his mic, his friends are nosy and would ask questions.
Suddenly, a loud âFUCK!â left Jongho when his player was killed, loud enough to muffle the deep moan that left Yunho as he came, y/n swallowing every last drop of his release, tears slightly forming at the crease of her eyes due to Yunho pushing her head down as far as he could get her, y/n nose pressed against pelvis.
Yunho released the grip he had on her, his hand moving to cover his mouth as his breathing came out in shallow pants. Y/N gasped for her own breath, wiping at her face before crawling up into Yunhoâs lap. He had to mute his mic then. âAre you fucking serious right now? Wooyoung is literally down the hall, my door is open andâŚâ
âShut up.â Y/N rolled her eyes at him because she honestly just didnât give a shit anymore. Theyâd been sneaking around for over two months now and she was tired. So what if their friends found out? The worst theyâd do is tease them before finding something else to throw dumb jokes at. âBesidesâŚâ she smirked, reaching without Yunho seeing her to unmute his mic. âyouâre already getting hard again.â
If Yunho would just look at his computer screen heâd notice the way his friends players were no longer moving. If he wasnât so distracted by the taste of himself lingering on y/n tongue as she kissed him, he probably would of noticed how Wooyoung, San and Jongho had all grown dead silent through his headset.
âWaitâŚâ Yunho pulled his headset off, carelessly placing it onto his desk, pausing his game. Heâd tell the guys he had to use the bathroom or something, whatever. Heâd make something up. âTake this off.â He was pulling at y/n shirt, helping her take it off, tossing it behind him somewhere on the floor in his room.
Of course she had no fucking bra on, Yunho dove in, arms wrapping around her, helping y/n to get some friction through her pajama shorts against his dick as he pulled one of her nipples into his mouth.
âNo teasing, you did enough of that yesterday.â Y/N pulled at his hair, yanking his head back, Yunhoâs lips so plump, face flushed, ears red. âJust fuck me.â Yunho was so lost in her, the mere thought of having his dick buried inside her that he completely forgot his door was open, still no idea that his mic was not on mute.
âLook at youâ Yunho was smirking now, hands gripping her waist to hold her still. âso desperate for my dick you almost got us caught.â
Almost? Y/N refrained from smirking back at his cluelessness, instead putting on her best pleading face, lips pouting, moaning his name as she could feel him, hard, pressing against her aching cunt through the silky lilac fabric of her shorts. âCome on, pleaseâŚâ She barely ever begged but she was damn horny. Another reason why she liked to push his buttons, angry Yunho was a complete turn on for her.
Yunho let her go, nodding his head at her as y/n was quick to crawl off his lap and remove her shorts, him lifting his hips in his chair just enough to give space to shove his sweatpants on down his legs, kicking them under his desk. âRide me.â Yunhoâs voice dropped, so deep it had y/n clenching around nothing as he guided her back to straddling him.
Yunho gripped a hand against one of the little arms of his gaming chair to help steady them as y/n own hands pulled herself up using his shoulder for leverage, Yunhoâs other hand reaching to help guide his dick into her, moans leaving them both as he filled her to the hilt. Both of Yunhoâs hands went to grip at her hips, y/n own going to tug at his hair, the other around his throat.
âWhy are we still listening?â San exclaimed over his headset. The lewd noises echoing in their ears from Yunhoâs end made it very clear what was going on. âBecause itâs fucking hot.â Wooyoung stated, practically whimpering towards the noises of his roommates.
âWooyoung, you fucking freak.â Jongho teased him before clearing his throat as a rather loud moan escaped Yunho, y/n name on his lips. âDude, go do something! Theyâre your roommates.â He could go and tell them to shut the fuck up. The sound of them together a little too hot for all three of them listening. They all had a boner.
âFuckâŚ. you always feel me up soâŚ. goodâŚ.â Y/N was a gasping, crying mess. Legs shaking, breathless. She could feel her orgasm ready to burst with every touch of Yunhoâs dick hitting her g spot. Her stomach was in knots, eyes practically crossed as he held her arms behind her, using his knees as leverage to pound into her from where she straddled him in his gaming chair.
Yunho was close too, thrusting sloppy and fast, kissing at any part of her skin he could reach from his position. âSo fucking goodâŚ.. so fucking good for meâŚâ he was mumbling, moaning, whining against her throat.
âMine.â He pulled back, smirking, pupils blown. âMy brat.â Two more deep thrusts and y/n was coming with his name a scream ringing from her lips. Four more thrusts and Yunho was coming, filling her so fucking full his legs shook.
They both yelled, Yunho groaning when he broke the fall as their movements caused the chair to rock off balance, plummeting them both to the floor. Yunhoâs arms were wrapped tightly around y/n, dick sliding out of her as she slipped up his body. Both of them were panting, breathless, both from post orgasm and the fall.
âHoly shitâŚâ Wooyoung was standing in the doorway, gaze dark as he had been watching them from Yunhoâs open bedroom door. Itâs not like he meant to, he was gonna knock on Yunhoâs door but then⌠well⌠he couldnât fucking look away. His roommates were so fucking hot together. He knew they had to of noticed the prominent hard bulge in his loose black pajama pants.
âYou guys want a third?â

IâM NOT HIM
rafe cameron x fem!reader

( mood board does NOT depict readers appearance !! )
SUMMARY: in which rafe snaps at reader during a heated argument and she flinches, her past trauma resurfacing. rafe breaking the main promise he made to her: to not be anything like her father.
based on an ask i got that i lost </3 i hope the anon who requested it finds this, and this its what you asked for! iâm a little rusty with one-shots so just a short one to ease me into things again! :)
WARNINGS: angst to fluff, arguing, cursing, mentions of past childhood abuse (reader), mentions of a gun/brief mention of violence, trauma responses, crying. (lmk if i missed anything!!)
WORD COUNT: 900 words
THIRD PERSON +
Rafe Cameron wasnât the kind of man anyone would describe as soft. Not with the sharp edge in his voice, the perpetual storm behind his ocean eyes, and the way his knuckles bore scars from fights he barely remembered. He had spent his life battling demons, most of them inherited from Ward Cameron, and those fights had shaped him into someone who took no prisoners.
But with Y/N, none of that mattered.
Y/N was everything Rafe wasnâtâgentle, warm, full of an optimism he couldnât begin to understand but adored nonetheless. She radiated light, the kind that made him want to shield her from the darkness in himself. For two years, sheâd been his anchor, the one person who saw past the volatile exterior to the man buried beneath. And for two years, Rafe had promised himself that he would never hurt her.
But promises donât always hold in the heat of the moment.
The argument had started over something Y/N had brought up before: the gun in Rafeâs apartment. She hated it, hated what it represented, and hated the memories it dragged up for her.
âRafe, I told you,â she said, her voice quiet but firm. âI donât feel safe with it here. Please.â
Rafe, already wound tight from dealing with his fatherâs latest scheme and the growing weight of âthe business,â felt his patience snap like a rubber band stretched too far.
âItâs not a big deal, Y/N,â he muttered, pacing the living room. âItâs not like Iâm walking around with it in my hand. Itâs locked up, alright? Just drop it.â
Y/N didnât drop it. She rarely did when something mattered to her. âIt is a big deal, Rafe. I asked you to get rid of it. I thought you understood howââ
âI said fucking drop it!â Rafeâs voice thundered through the room, loud enough to make the walls seem smaller.
The words echoed in the sudden silence, bouncing off the tension between them. Rafe froze, immediately regretting the way heâd shouted, but it was too late.
Y/N stood there, trembling, her wide eyes glassy with unshed tears. Her lip wobbled as she tried to hold herself together, but Rafe saw the cracks forming.
âBabyâŚâ he said softly, taking a step toward her, reaching out his hand.
She flinched. Actually flinched.
It was like a knife to his chest, sharp and unrelenting. He knew her pastâknew about her fatherâs temper and the way it had scarred her. He knew that shouting brought her back to those dark, suffocating memories.
âIâm so sorry,â he whispered, his voice thick with panic. He reached out again, but she backed away, tears spilling down her cheeks.
âIâI canât,â she choked out before rushing to the bedroom and shutting the door behind her.
Rafe rushed after her before collapsing onto the floor, pressing his back against the wall beside the bedroom door. He could hear her quiet sobs on the other side, each one driving the guilt deeper into his chest.
He buried his face in his hands. âIâm so sorry, babyâ he murmured, voice breaking. âI didnât mean it. I didnât mean to scare you. Please, just⌠let me make it right.â
Her sobs continued, muffled but heartbreaking. Rafe rested his head against the door, tears streaming down his face. He could picture her inside, curled up in the corner, just like she used to do as a little girl to shield herself from her fatherâs rage. A place he promised her she wouldn't ever have to go back to.
âIâm not him,â he whispered, as much to himself as to her. âIâll never be him. I swear. Iâll never hurt you.â
Minutes turned into half an hour, but Rafe didnât move. He felt he didnât deserve to move.
When the door finally opened, Rafe almost didnât notice at first. Heâd been staring at the floor, lost in the heaviness of his own shame. But then Y/N was there, stepping out quietly and kneeling beside him.
Without a word, she crawled into his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face in his shoulder. Her touch was tentative, as if she wasnât entirely sure she could trust it yet, but Rafe held her like she was the only thing keeping him alive.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered over and over, his voice cracking as he clung to her. âI didnât mean it. I swear, Y/N/N. Iâm so sorry.â
Y/N didnât respond right away. She just held him, letting his warmth chase away the cold that had settled in her chest. Eventually, she pulled back just enough to look at him, her tear-streaked face breaking his heart all over again.
âPlease donât yell at me like that again,â she said softly, her voice trembling.
Rafe cupped her face gently, his thumb brushing away her tears. âI wonât,â he promised, his tone fierce with conviction. âNever again. Iâll get rid of the gun. Iâll do whatever it takes to make this right. Just⌠donât be afraid of me.â
âIâm not afraid of you,â Y/N said, her voice barely audible. âIâm afraid of the person you might become.â
Rafe nodded, the weight of her words sinking deep. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, holding her tightly again. âIâll be better,â he whispered. âFor you, Iâll be better.â
In that moment, Rafe vowed to prove it. Not with words, but with actionsâstarting with the gun.

Ddakji Man

summery - you were always struggling to make ends meet, despite having three separate jobs and you doubted that that would ever change. it felt like you were working out of your own casket and it would probably be more sustainable to invest in one at this point.
pairing: (gong yoo/ji-cheol) the salesman x fem. reader
word count: 1.5k
contains: slight arguing, cursing but nothing too graphic tbh
"Are you sure that you don't want to come?" One of your friends asked you a little sadly since you were about to leave the group. They rarely got to see you anyway, did you have to leave so early? "You never come with us when we go out for a drink, we miss you there, you know?"
You smiled a little tiredly as you strolled casually through the streets. "I'm sorry guys, I just have to work tonight." you tried to explain. Besides, I'm fucking tired and just want to get some sleep before then. I miss my bed.
Your best friend pouted as she hugged you from the side and you welcomed it, even if it made walking a little more difficult. "It's always work this work that. Live a little for once, all this stress is not good for you. You need a break." she spoke up before a thought came into her mind that made her a little furious. "Don't tell me that you're using work as an excuse to cancel on us. We can do something else if you want to. I'll even invite you, come on!"
You took a tired breath. I don't have any energy for this. "Trust me, I'd love nothing more than to get drunk with you and I'm not being sarcastic or anything." you clarified. Besides, I wouldn't work this much if I didn't have to.
"All right." she gave in unhappy. "We'll catch you one of these days, I can feel it..."
You laughed softly. "Please do," you replied and stopped in front of the stairs that led to the subway. This was the place where you had to part ways with the others and you did with a few more hugs. You enjoyed spending time with them and loved your friends with all your heart, but you were still happy to be a bit on your own now.
So you plugged in your cable headphones and played your current favorite song at the loudest volume before checking when the next train was going to arrive. Another twenty minutes? The last one must have just left. You decided to just sit down on a bench and wait while staring blankly around and quietly mumbling the lyrics to yourself.
A few minutes later, a person sat down next to you and you could see out of the corner of your eye that it was probably some kind of businessman or something. You didn't look closely out of politeness and turned your gaze somewhere else after checking the time on your phone.
"Excuse me." the unknown man tried to get your attention, but as expected, you could barely hear him over the booming music. He placed his briefcase in the space between you before leaning closer to your figure and looking towards you with a smile and finally, you seemed to notice his stare and turned in his direction. You took out one of your earbuds as you met his gaze. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
The man leaned back again. "I haven't said anything yet. I wanted to ask if I could talk to you, do you have a moment?"
You looked around a little uncomfortably as he maintained uninterrupted eye contact with you. "Ehm, well..." you stumbled slightly over your words. "I'm not religious or anything, sorry," you replied, having no patience for another discourse about Jesus and the church. This is the fourth time this week, lucky me. You thought to yourself as you were about to put your earplug back in.
The salesman held a hand in the air to stop you from doing that to keep your attention. You just looked at him uninterestedly and waited, it was going to be a while before your train arrived anyway. A smile graced his face after you were willing to listen to him again. "That's not what I wanted to talk about, I just want to offer you a chance."
Your face tightened a little in disgust and you were quite irritated by now. He seemed to be waiting for some kind of answer and didn't say anything else, so you had no choice but to interpret his words. He doesn't look like that kind of guy, but I guess it's always the ones who look the most decent. "Listen to me asshole," you said openly this time, all politeness gone as you pointed at his chest with your index finger. "I don't know you, maybe you're one of those men who try to talk in riddles to seem mysterious or something, but right now it just sounds like you're looking for someone cheap to fuck." you replied as you tapped his tie with each syllable and leaned a little closer to him as you whispered. "And I'm not cheap, so you might want to look elsewhere."
This time it was you who grinned as he looked at you in surprise and he let out a small grunt after you finished your sentence. The salesman straightened his tie while watching your figure before reaching for his briefcase and revealing its contents, "That's too bad, but also not what I was talking about," he replied as you looked at the money and colored paper in confusion. "Have you ever played Ddakji?" He asked you as he took out the red and blue paper. You just shook your head. "That's no problem at all, we can still play it if you're up for it."Â
Your gaze alternated from his hand to his face. Oh, so he's crazy. You finally concluded. I guess he is too handsome to be just a normal guy, huh. You turned your head away from him, something about the whole thing just seemed perverse to you. "No thanks, I'll pass."
"You sure?" He asked again, knowing he'd convinced you as soon as he brought the money into it. These people are all the same, she'll snatch the paper right out of my hands after I start talking a language she understands. "Every time you win, you get 100,000 won from me." He began, watching the look on your face. "But if I win, you owe me 100,000 won and -"
You sighed and interrupted him. "Yes, I'm sure. I still don't want to play with you, okay?"
This time the man looked at you with a cold, icy stare. A few minutes passed like this and you just tried to ignore his gaze, but then he started talking again. "All right. 200,000 won." he finally said, but couldn't seem to get your attention back. He tried again. "Is it because you've never played the game before? We can have a practice round if that would make you feel more comfortable." he tried again and got irritated when you continued to ignore him. He looked around the area as he considered his next move. Is she waiting for me to increase the prize money further? These people usually jump up happily at the first amount since they're so desperate. He tried to collect himself again. "500,000 won." he finally said. "I've got the money right here, you just have to go for it."
When is this stupid train coming. "Look, I don't want your fucking money, understand? I'm not a gambling addict or -"
"You may not want it, but you need it," he said, annoyed. This has never happened before, is she stupid? He then spoke out your name and described your miserable living situation as if you didn't already know about it yourself. "You also have quite a lot of debt for someone who is still relatively young, are you seriously going to turn down the money I'm offering you? For what, to prove a point or something?"
You didn't know what this man's fucking problem was, he should be glad that you didn't want to take his money, and how did he even know all this? You got up from your seat next to him when the train finally arrived and turned to face him one last time. "Fuck you," you told him and then went to the doors. You even looked out of the window at him as soon as they closed before you, to show him your the middle finger.
The man in the suit watched your figure irritated until it was gone and then, took the little card out of the inside pocket of his suit, that was meant for you. He turned it over a few times in his hand before closing the open briefcase with his other one. He had already played and lost a few Ddakji games in his life, which was the point of the whole thing - to recruit players for the actual game. However, the thought of what awaited them there meant that he was still in control of the situation. He was always in control of the situation. "I didn't loose, we haven't even played." he tried to reassure himself.
And yet the whole conversation with you left him feeling like he was utterly defeated.
